Box 1179 Southold, New York 11971 RE: Hugh J. Murphy permit no. 4577, March 28, 1996 Dear Mr. Krupski and Town Trustees: In reviewing the permit issued by your board, I found the address was incorrectly shown as Pine Neck Road. Mr. Murphy's property is located at 3105 Oaklawn Avenue. Please issue a revised permit if you feel it is necessary. Mr. Murphy has requested me to contact your board regarding another matter. When Mr. Murphy filed an application with your board, he was planning to renovate the existing house and build an addition on the east and south sides of the house. In opening the house for the season, Mr. Murphy took a critical look at the existing house and felt there was not much to save. He would be interested in razing the existing house and building a new house in the footprint provided by the existing house and two proposed additions. The final design of the house would be the same, but in one case, it would consist of all new materials and in the second case, the house would consist of new and old materials. I have spoken to the Building Department, and they have no objection to building a new house as long as all the permits that have been issued are amended. Therefore, we would like to know whether or not the approval we received from your board would cover the demolition of the existing house and the building of a new house to the proposed footprint originally granted. Murphy Permit ~ 4577 Dear Mr. Krupski and Board ~embers: On behalf of my client, Hugh Murphy, I am requesting an e~~o the above permit which expires March 28, 1998. On January 10, 1997, I tried to file an application for ap~.roval to construct sewage disposal with the Suffolk County Department of Health Services. I was asked to submit additional information which was done on March 21, 1997. Subsequent requests from that department dated 4/17/97 and 9/3/97, resulted in the necessity of filing an application for variance or waiver from regulations or specifications on October 10, I997. The Board of Review was held this morning, at which time we were informed that a decision would be mailed to us in four to six weeks. This does not permit enough time for us to file an application with Suffolk County Department of Health Services for any upgrades they require nor to file for a building permit with the Town of Southold. In view of these circumstances, an extension of your permit is re~u~d. I have enclosed copies of the correspondence with the health department. If you need additional information in order to act upon t%is request, please contact me. Thank you for your attention to this matter. Sincerely, Diane Herold enc. In view of the extremely poor condition of the existing house and the fact that no interior wall will remain in its existing location has made Mr. Murphy decide to demolish the existing house and rebuild in the exact footprint as originally proposed in the previous application. We are requesting an amendment to the above application. The six foot addition on the west and the twelve foot addition on the south side of the existing house are still proposed but will become part of the construction of the new house. The additional change will be the existing house will be rebuilt as a 1-1/2 story house. A revised survey is attached which shows that the footprint of the new house is the same as the existing house with the proposed additions. If you need additional information, please contact me at 288-5049. Please note that the address for tho project is Oaklawn Avenue and not Pine Neck Road. Thank you for your attention to this request.
