At this time the other work authorized by this permit has not been undertaken, and I

Dear Mr. Slrang:
The following action was taken by the Board of Town Trustees during a Regular Meeting, held
on November 20th, 2002 regarding the above matter.
WHEREAS, Garrett A. Strang. on behalf of Thomas Maloney applied to the Southold Town
Trustees for a pennit under the provisions of the Wetland Ordinance of the Town of South old,
application dated October 4, 2002.
WHEREAS, said application was referred to the Southold Town Conservation Advisory Council
for their findings and recommendations, and
WHEREAS, a Public Hearing was held by the Town Trustees with respect to said application on
November 20th 2002 at which time all interested persons were given an opportunity to be heard,
and,
WHEREAS, the Board members have personally viewed and are familiar with the premises in
question and the surrounding area, and,
WHEREAS, the Board has considered all the testimony and documentation submitted
concerning this application, and,
WHEREAS, the structure complies with the standard set forth in Chapter 97-18 ofthe Southold

WHEREAS, the Board has detennined that the project as proposed will not affect the health,
safety and general welfare of the people of the town.
NOW THEREFORE BE IT,
RESOLVED, that the Board of Trustees approved the application of Thomas Maloney for a
Wetland Permit for an addition to existing residence including deck, stone terrace and wall
catwalk which will end at the of marsh with a ramp and float - boat and structure may intrude no
more than J/3'd into the water - relocate the septic system -also dryweJls for roof run-off-
haybale line during construction.
BE IT FUR THER RESOLVED that this determination should not be considered a determination
made for any other Department or Agency, which may also have an application pending for the
same or similar project.
Fee must be paid, if applicable and permit issued within six months of the date of this
notification.
Ifinspections are required, at a fee of$5.oo per inspection (See attached schedule).

CONSERVATION ADVISORY COUNCIL
At the meeting of the Southold Town Conservation Advisory Council held Monday,
November 18, 2002, the following recommendation was made:
Moved by Bob Ghosio, seconded by William Cook, it was
RESOLVED to recommend to the Southold Town Board ofTrustees DISAPPROVAL of
the Wetland Permit application of THOMAS MALONEY to construct an addition to the
existing residence including a deck, stone terrace and wall, catwalk and dock, and to
relocate the septic system.
Located: 1475 Smith Dr. North, Southold. SCTM#76-2-3
The CAC recommends Disapproval of the application because of the following reasons:
- The project was not staked.
- The size and length of the proposed catwalk and dock are
unjustified and could be detrimental to the wildlife corridor.
- The trees that are going to be removed in order to construct a
deck should be replaced.
However, the CAC supports the relocation of the septic system.
