Tiranno, as issued on November 17, 2004, and Amended on October 19, 2005.

Dear Board of Trustees,
I am writing to you today to request a transfer of a Dock Permit from the previous owners of our
property to ourselves.
The dock permit#6032 is recorded in the names of Sean Olsen and Leslie Barney.We purchased the
property at 1075 Smith Drive North,Southold, NY 11971 from them in January 2016.We would like to
transfer the permit to Charles and Janet Tiranno.We have enclosed the fee of$50.
We authorize the Board of Trustees to enter our property at 1075 Smith Drive North,Southold, NY
11971 for the purpose of inspecting the dock. f

Dear Mr. Herrmann:
The Board of Town Trustees took the following action during its regular meeting held on
November 17, 2004 regarding the above matter:
WHEREAS, En-Consultants, Inc. on behalf of LESLIE BARNEY & SEAN OLSEN
applied to the Southold Town Trustees for a permit under the provisions of Chapter 97
of the Southold Town Code, the Wetland Ordinance of the Town of Southold,
application dated October 25, 2004, and,
WHEREAS, said application was referred to the Southold Town Conservation Advisory
Council for their findings and recommendations, and,
WHEREAS, a Public Hearing was held by the Town Trustees with respect to said
application on November 17, 2004, at which time all interested persons were given an
opportunity to be heard, and,
WHEREAS, the Board members have personally viewed and are familiar with the
premises in question and· the surrounding area, and,
WHEREAS, the Board has considered all the testimony and documentation submitted
concerning this application, and,

WHEREAS, the structure complies with the standards set forth in Chapter 97 of the
South old Town Code,
WHEREAS, the Board has determined that the project as proposed will not affect the

NOW THEREFORE BE IT,
RESOLVED, that the Board of Trustees approve the application of LESLIE BARNEY &
SEAN OLSEN to construct a fixed timber dock consisting of a 3'X 12' ramp, 3'X 18'
fixed elevated catwalk, 3'X 14' hinged ramp, and a 6'X 20' float, secured by (2) 6" dia.
pilings, with the condition the ramp and float are removed seasonally, and all as
depicted on the plan prepared by En-Consultants, Inc. last dated December 8, 2004.

Permit to construct and complete project will expire two years from the date the permit
is signed. Fees must be paid, if applicable, and permit issued within six months of the
date of this notification.
Inspections are required at a fee of $50.00 per inspection. (See attached schedule.)

TOWN OF SOUTHOLD
At the meeting of the Southold Town Conservation Advisory Council held Tues.,
November 9, 2004, the following recommendation was made:
Moved by Don Wilder, seconded by Jack McGreevy, it was
RESOLVED to recommend to the Southold Town Board of Trustees APPROVAL WITH
A CONDITION of the Wetland Permit application of LESLIE BARNEY & SEAN OLSEN
to construct a fixed timber dock, consisting of a 4'X 12' inclined ramp; 4'X 18' fixed
elevated catwalk; 3'X 14' hinged ramp; and 6'X 20' ''T'' - float, secured by (2) 6" dia.
pilings.
Located: 1075 Smith Drive North, Southold. SCTM#76-2..1
The CAC recommends Approval of the application with the Condition the beach area is
re-planted with native species and that the docking facility and boat do not exceed more
than 1/3 the width of the creek.

Re: Leslie Bamev and Sean Olsen. Wetlands Permit No. 6032
Dear Mr. Krupski:
The captioned permit for a 3' x 12' inclined ramp leading to a 3' x 18' fixed catwalk, 3' x 14' hinged
ramp, and 6' x 20' float was issued last year on November 17, 2004.
Now, after nearly eleven months of review, the New York State Department of Environmental
Conservation (DEe) has indicated that the only circumstances in which they will issue a permit for a
dock at this location is if the length of the proposed dock is increased by three (3) feet via the
lengthening of the 3' x 18' fixed catwalk to 3' x 21' feet. The DEC's position is that sufficient water
depth is not attainable without this 36-inch lengthening of the dock.
Given that the proposed dock is located opposite the open waters of an existing boat basin, where no
dock conld ever be located, this marginal lengthening should not cause interference with navigation.
And without this lengthening, it appears that Ms. Bamey and Mr. Olsen would not be able to construct
their dock as they have already obtained permission from the Trustees, U.S. Army Corps of Engineers,
and New York State Department of State Coastal Resources Division to do.
Therefore, we must respectfully submit the attached application to amend the Trustees permit
accordingly.
