TOWN OF SOUTHOLD

RE: MARION GOTBETTER/CARMEN RAMIS
425 DIAMOND LANE, PECONIC
SCTM #68-2-13.1
Dear Mr. Uellendahl:
The Southold Town Board of Trustees reviewed the survey prepared by Van Tuyl dated
March 23, 1995 and the site plan prepared by Frank Uellendahl dated August 31, 2001
and determined the proposed additions to the existing dwelling and proposed garage to
be out of the Wetland jurisdiction under Chapter 97 of the Town Wetland Code and
Chapter 37 of the Town Code.
Therefore, in accordance with the current Tidal Wetlands Code (Chapter 97) and the
Coastal Erosion Hazard Area (Chapter 37) no permit is required. Please be advised,
however, that no construction, sedimentation, or disturbance of any kind may take place
seaward of the tidal wetlands jurisdictional boundary or seaward of the coastal erosion
hazard area as indicated above, or within 100' of a freshwater wetland without a permit.
It is your responsibility to ensure that all necessary precautions are taken to prevent any
sedimentation or other alteration or disturbance to the ground surface or vegetation
within Tidal Wetlands jurisdiction and Coastal Erosion Hazard Area, which may result
from your project. Such precautions may include maintaining adequate work area
between the tidal wetland jurisdictional boundary and the coastal erosion hazard area
and your project or erecting a temporary fence, barrier, or hay bale berm.
However, any activity within 100' of a Wetland line or seaward of the Coastal Erosion
Hazard Area would require permits from this office.
This determination is not a determination from any other agency.
If you have any further questions, please do not hesitate to call.
Sincerely,
Albert J. Krupski, Jr., .~nt '

Subject: Request for Variences: Gotbetter-Ramis Residence, Peconic
Please enter into the records of the meeting of The Southold Town Board of Trustees on
October 21, 2004:
To the Board and Others Concerned:
Having seen the plans for the variances being requested by Marion Gotbetter and Carmen
Ramis which include adding a second story and a garage to their residence at 425 Diamond Lane in
Peconic, ! wish to be on record as thoroughly approving their plans and the designs.
[ am their neighbor at 400 Diamond Lane. The windows on the western side of my house
look out on their property. ! was not only shown the proposed designs but asked for input and
comment.
The plans are lovely and ! look forward to seeing the completed home. As designed it can
only add to the quiet beauty of our little community.
Additionally, [ cannot imagine two people more devoted to the preservation of the wild land
of Southold Town or to the maintenance of the bluffs we all share on Diamond Lane than Flarion
Gotbetter and Carmen Ramis. Whatever plans they might bring before you to add to their own
property will always be in keeping with a deep respect for the land and those who have the
privilege of sharing it.
Thank you,
Deborah Gordon-Brown
