Dear Mr. Ivans:
The following action was taken by the Board of Town Trustees
during its regular meeting held on October 25, 2000 regardiag
the ~bove matter:
WHEREAS, Suffolk Environmental Consulting, Inc. on b~ha~f of
ELLEN A. GROPPE applied to the Southold Town TruRtees for a
permit under the provisions of the Wetland Ordinance of t.he Town
at Southold, application dated August 21, 2000. and
WHEREAS, said application was referred to the Southold Town
Conservation Advisory Council for their findings and
recommendations, and,
WHEREAS, a Public Hearing was held by the Town Trustees with
respect to said application on October 25, 2000 at which time
all interested persons were given an opportunity to be heard,
and,
WHEREAS, the Board members have personally viewed and are
familiar with the premises in question and the surrounding area,
and,
WHEREAS, the Board has considered all the testimony and
documentation submitted concerning this application, and,
WHEREAS, the structure complies with the standards set forth in
Chapter 97 of the Southold Town Code,

WHEREAS, the Board has determined that
will not affect the health, safety and
people of the town,
the project as proposed
general welfare of the
NOW THEREFORE BE IT,
RESOLVED, that the Board of Trustees approve the application of
ELLEN A. GROPPE to construct a single-family dwelling, driveway,
and septic system. The 24'X 36' proposed dwelling is to be
built on piles and located 47'+/- from the wetlands with a 40'
non-disturbance buffer adjacent to the tidal wetland line, all
with the condition that there be no turf and no fill placed on
the north or on the west side of the house or on the west side
of the proposed driveway, and no fill or turf on the east side
of the house. The only fill that will be brought in will be for
the septic system on the south side of the house. Native
species should be planted after construction and that ther9 be a
staked row of hay bales at the 40' non-disturbance buffer line
during construction.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that this determination should not be
considered a determination made for any other Department or
Agency which may also have an application pending for the same
or similar project.
Permit to construct and complete project will expire two years
from the date it is signed. Fees must be paid, if applicable,
and permit issued within six months of the date of this
notification.
Two inspections are required and the Trustees are to be notified
upon completion of said project.
