The following action was taken by the Southold Town Board of Trustees at their Regular
Meeting held on Wednesday, September 17, 2025:
RESOLVED, that the Southold Town Board of Trustees APPROVE the Administrative
Amendment to Wetland Permit#4686 for the as-built reconstruction of a portion of
existing bluff stairway seaward of access ramp following installation of rock revetment
with ten (10) platforms totaling 199 sq.ft. using ACQ lumber, composite decking and
fiberon railing; and as depicted on the site plan prepared by Mark Schwartz &
Associates, received on August 8, 2025, and stamped approved on September 17,
2025.
Any other activity within 100' of the wetland boundary requires a permit from this office.
This is not a determination from any other agency.

Dear Mr. & Mrs. Weber:
The following action was taken by the Board of Town Trustees
during its regular meeting held on December 18, 1996 regarding
the above matter:
WHEREAS, PHILIP & NANCY WEBER applied to the Southold Town
Trustees for a permit under the provisions of the Wetland
Ordinance of the Town of Southold, application dated November
25, 1996, and,
WHEREAS, said application was referred to the Southold Town
Conservation Advisory Council for their findings and
recommendations, and
WHEREAS, a Public Hearing was held by the Town Trustees with
respect to said application on December 18, 1996, at which time
all interested persons were given an opportunity to be heard,
and,
WHEREAS, the Board members have personally viewed and are
familiar with the premises in question and the surrounding area,
and,
WHEREAS, the Board has considered all the testimony and
documentation submitted concerning this application. and,
WHEREAS, the structure complies with the standard set forth in
Chapter 37-18 of the Southold Town Code,
WHEREAS, the Board has determined that the project as proposed
will not affect the health, safety and general welfare of the
people of the town,
NOW THEREFORE BE IT,
A

RESOLVED, that the Board of Trustees grant a Wetland Permit to
PHILIP & NANCY WEBER to construct wooden stairs with minimal
landings to access beach with minimal disturbance to the bluff
as per survey dated October 17, 1996. Also to place a row of
staked haybales at the top of the bluff immediately and when
re-landscaping, slope bluff landward away from bluff, and,
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that this determination should not be
considered a determination made for any other Department or
Agency which may also have an application pending for the same
or similar project.
Permit to construct project will expire two years from the date
it is signed. Fees must be paid, if applicable, and permit
issued within six months of the date of this notification.
Two inspections are required and the Trustees are to be notified
upon completion of said project.

At the Southold Town Conservation Advisory Council meeting held Friday,
December 13, 1996 the following recommendation was made:

Moved by Bruce Loucka, seconded by Betty Wells, it was
RESOLVED to recommend to the Southold Town Board of Trustees APPROVAL
WITH STIPULATIONS of the Wetland Application of PHILIP and NANCY WEBER
21-5-7 to erect wooden stairway with landings.
The Council recommends approval with the stipulations that the stairs cause a
minimum of disruption to the bluff and that applicant stabilize the top of the
bank, either by creating a non-turf buffer or by regrading away from the top,
to contain runoff.
