Re: Lefkios Antoniou, Chariklia Varellas and Theodoros AntodimI-'~
Permit # 4167,
As per my previous conversation with your office conceming this above-named expired permit it has
come to my attention that although this project has been nearly completed, the building department had
placed a stop work order and sent this project to ZBA for a variance that has been since granted.
To the best of my knowledge, with the exception of the plantings and installation of pervious driveway,
the revetment and residence have been completed as permitted.
As a matter of record the Building department has requested that this permit and that issued by the DEC
both be renewed before the work on this residence may resume. The DEC permit has been re-issued
10/27/03 with special conditions that driveways and parking areas shall be constructed of pervious
material and they shall be graded to direct run off away from tidal wetlands and protected buffer areas.
Please advise me, as it is so near completion, in terms of environmental impact, if the Trustees would
issue a letter to this effect or ifa renewal is still available on this project. I am of the belief that something
from your office will need to be in place for the owner's eligibility for a certificate of occupancy to be
issued by the Building Dept.
Thank you for your consideration of this request. Please don't hesitate to contact me if you have any
questions or I need to submit further documentation. Enclosed please f'md a copy of the current "as built"
survey as it has been recently re- permitted by the DEC.

Permit # 4167
Dear Charlotte,
As per our previous conversation concerning this above-named expired permit it has comc to my
attention that although this project has been nearly completed, the building department had pla~ed a stop
work order and issued a disapproval on thc roadside stair-entry for exceeding the allotted square footage
allowed in the setback area. To the best of my knowledge, with the exception of the plantings and
installation of pervious driveway, the revetment and residence have been completed as permitted.
This project shall be before the Southold Town Zoning board of Appeals on Thursday July 24th. As a
matter of record the Building depar~'aent has requested that this permit and that issued by the DEC both
be renewed before the work on this residence may resume. Plr. ase advise me, as it is so near completion,
in terms of environmental impact, if the trustees would issue a letter to this effect or if a renewal is still
available to us on this project, as despite the ZBA's ruling, the remainde~ of the project needs to be
completed until a certificate of occupancy has been issued.
Due to the stop work order the site is and has been unvegetated and has sustained wind blown and rain
related soil erosion that could become a more serious problem is left much longer.
Thank you for your consideration of this request, Please don't hesitate to contact me if you have any
questions or I need to submit further documentation. Enclosed please f'md a copy of the current "as built"
survey. CYhis is not a project our I'irm has been involved in but I have been recently retained to help with
these permit matters. A copy ora Letter of authority also enclosed).

Permit # 5059 / Permit # 4167
Dear Sir/Madam:
On behalf of our clients, Letkios Antoniou, Chariklia Varellas and Theodoms Antoniou,
we hereby respectfully request that Permit no. 5059, dated September 22, 1999, be extended for
an additional one-year period. The permit was originally issued to Susan Tasker back on
September 22, 1999, "to permit to construct a one family dwelling..." at the subject premises.
Mrs. Tasker had also obtained permits from the Suffolk County Department of Health and the
New York State Department of Environmental Conservation.
All the permits were transferred by Mrs. Tasker to our clients in connection with a sale
of the subject premises, which closed back on September 1, 2000. However, we note that the
Board of Trustees' letter of September 22, 2000, approving the transfer, erroneously refers to a
Permit no. 4167 - an old permit that had been issued to Mrs. Tasker back in 1993 for the same
project, instead of Permit no. 5059. For your reference and records, we enclose copies of Permit
no. 5059, and of the Board's transfer approval letter of September 22, 2000.
The circumstances that have led to this request are untbrtunate. The commencement of
any construction was delayed because, shortly after their purchase of the property last September,
Mr. Letkios Antoniou's wife, Christalla, only 52 years old, was diagnosed with pancreatic
cancer.(Chariklia Varellas and Theodoros Antoniou are the children of Letkios and Christalla).
During the last year, the family has focused on meeting with doctors and seeing to the medical
treatment of Mrs. Antoniou, and has, understandably spent a great deal of time in that regard.
Now, the family can turn their focus to commencing and completing the construction of the

subject home. Indeed, the family greatly hopes for an opportunity to enjoy the proposed new
home with their mother/wife as soon as possible - over the last ten years or so, the family has
spent just about all the summer holiday weekends in Greenport, staying at hotels.
If you should have any questions, or require further information, please do not hesitate to
contact us.
Finally, enclosed is our check in the amount of $10.00 for the renewal fee.
We understand that the Board's next meeting is on September 19, 2001. Please advise
whether our appearance is required.
We thank the Board for its consideration.

Dear Trustees:
Attached please find application for Coastal Erosion Management permit and Wetlands permit
for a project which had been approved in the past. Coastal Erosion Management permit #44-2-
1 l (copy enclosed) and Wetlands permit #4167 (copy enclosed) were issued and extended.
Recent correspondence to my client indicated that no further extensions could be granted thus
necessitating this new application.
An inspection of the property indicates that conditions have not changed. Further, I know of no
changes in Town roles, regulations, codes, etc. so that it is our opinion that new permits for this
project should be issued.
Would you please advise when the matter will be placed upon the Board's agenda so that we
might explain the situation further.

Dear Mr. Krupski:
My office represents Sue Tasker and she is fairly upset with the information that
was relayed to her by a prospective purchaser.
It seems that she had all the necessary permits in place which expired in May of
1998 but was told that if she started construction that the permits would be extended on
an annual basis.
She was further advised that if she started to bring ~n some fill to the property that
that would suffice for your purposes.
She did in fact retain the services of Whitey Skrzrec and paid him over $500.00 to
bring in some fill. She was under the impression that her permits would be extended
accordingly, however, he prospective purchasers indicated to her that when they were at
your office the other day they were told that the permits had expired.
Would you please be kind enough to look into this matter and favor me .with your
advices. Thank you.
PAC/jc
Very truly yours,
