Ms. Ellen Levin-Wiederlight came in with regards to how to proceed with cleaning up the debris including large logs that was washed ashore during the storm around the Soundview Restaurant&Motel. She was having a contractor pick up large logs from atop the bulkhead that he could easily reach via a back-hoe grabbing the logs and tucking them away. Bay Constable #M-5 (?) I don't know off hand who is M-5 stopped by and told them to stop immediately and get a permit. They were removing large logs as the logsalready broke one or more of the pilings supporting the building. There is already a Wetland Permit& Coastal Erosion Permit from 10/30/00 to "remove the washed-up debris from winter storms and to smooth the beach in front of the staircases that lead down to the beach from the deck. This maintenance will be performed once a year in the Spring." The permit is under her father's name who is deceased so she filled out a permit transfer request. Ms. Levin-Wiederlight needs to remove the large logs that are still there a.s.a.p. in order to prevent any further damage to the building. Does the Board want her to apply for an emergency permit to remove all debris or/and amend the wetland/coastal erosion permit to modify the permit to be on an as-needed-basis maintenance clean up in lieu of Springtime only. We received damage to 4 staircases leading to the beach from the deck and floating debris also broke 5 deck support posts at various locations along the building. This building as you may know was built in the 50's, if there would be any problems making repair to an existing structure please advise us.
