May 30, 2002 Ms. Amy Martin c/o Fairweather Brown Design 413 Main Street Greenport, NY 11944 RE: SCTM#37-05-17 Nancy Chin/Schlaefer 180 Knoll Circle, East Marion, NY Dear Ms. Martin: The following action as taken by the Board of Town Trustees during a Regular Meeting, held on May 22, 2002, regarding the above matter. WHEREAS, Fairweather Brown Design on behalf of Nancy Chin/Schlaefer applied to the Southold Town Trustees for a permit under the provisions of the Wetland Ordinance of the Town of Southold, application dated April 29, 2002 WHEREAS, said application was referred to the Southold Town Conservation Advisory Council for their findings and recommendations, and WHEREAS, a Public Hearing was held by the Town Trustees with respect to said application on May 22, 2002 at which time all interested persons were given an opportunity to be heard, and, WHEREAS, the Board members have personally viewed and are familiar with the premises in question and the surrounding area, and, WHEREAS, the Board has considered all the testimony and documentation submitted concerning this application, and, WHEREAS, the structure complies with the standard set forth in Chapter 97-18 of the Southold Town Code. WHEREAS, the Board has determined that the project as proposed will not affect the health, . 2 . safety and general welfare of the people of the town, NOW THEREFORE BE IT. RESOLVED, that the Board of Trustees approved the application of Nancy Chin/Schlaefer for a Wetland Permit for renovation and addition to home - no changes to footprint waterside prior to construction a line of haybales - drywells and gutters to retain roof run-off. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that this determinatión should not be considered a determination made for any other Department or Agency, which may also have an application pending for the same or similar project. Fee must be paid, if applicable and permit issued within six months of the date of this notification. Ifinspections are required, at a fee of$5.00 per inspection (See attached schedule). The proposed addition/renovation is to maintain the existing footprint on the water side of the home. There will be a slight addition of fill to bring the 9' contour outside the house envelope. This will change grade <I 'xl 'for 30'. Fill will be clean topsoil and will be. The concrete wall is to be removed on the south side of the home and the proposed addition is to replace the existing concrete patio as shown on the site plan. The residence, with the proposed changes should not cause any new impact to the wetlands, in fact there will less, as roof run-off will be directed to dry wells. Hay bales will be placed as directed, during construction and any other recommended practices you may suggest will be implemented. The only other disturbance we foresee might be a necessary septic system upgraded, to meet SClIDS standards, and again proper care will be taken during this process to assure nothing affects the local wetlands. The bulkhead was constructed during the 1930's and has been maintained to date. Application for repairs are currently being made by Costello Marine.
