Attached FYI is copy of the permit for stairs along with the plan that went with it. Thought you might find that helpful.
You would need to amend this permit in order to do the work which you explained to me. There would be a $50.00 fee
and there are certain forms which
you, as agent for the owner, or the owner would have to fill out.-The application would then go on our agenda at our
next available board hearing which is November 16.
You can stop in here for the packet of forms and we can explain to you what you need to do. As i explained on the
phone yesterday,you would also need to
submit a plan which would show exactly what repairs you are doing to the structure and what type of material you will
be using.

Dear Mr. Herrmann:
The Board of Town Trustees took the following action during its regular meeting held on
Wednesday October 20, 2004, regarding the above matter:
WHEREAS, Robert Herrmann as agent for EAST OF EDEN, LLC. applied to the
Southold Town Trustees for a permit under the provisions of Chapter 97 of the Southold
Town Code, the Wetland Ordinance of the Town of Southold, application dated
September 29, 2004, and,
WHEREAS, said application was referred to the Southold Town Conservation Advisory
Council for their findings and recommendations, and,
WHEREAS, a Public Hearing was held by the Town Trustees with respect to said
application on October 20, 2004, at which time all interested persons were given an
opportunity to be heard, and,
WHEREAS, the Board members have personally viewed and are familiar with the
premises in question and the surrounding area, and,
WHEREAS, the Board has considered all the testimony and documentation submitted
concerning this application, and,
WHEREAS, the structure complies with the standards set forth in Chapter 97 of the
Southold Town Code,
WHEREAS, the Board has determined that the project as proposed will not affect the
health, safety and general welfare of the people of the town,
RESOLVED, that the Board of Trustees approve the application of Robert Herrmann as
agent for EAST OF EDEN, L~C. to construct a 4' x 68' set of timber stairs/platforms
down bluff face to provide access from upland to beach, with the condition that the top
of the bluff be replanted to prevent erosion after construction and all as depicted on the
plans surveyed by Howard Young dated June 20, 2003 and the plans prepared by En-
Consultants dated September 2, 2003.
Permit to construct and complete project will expire two years from the date the permit
is signed. Fees must be paid, if applicable, and permit issued within six months of the
date of this notification.
Inspections are required at a fee of $50.00 per inspection. (See attached schedule.)
This is not a determination from any other agency.

TOWN OF SOUTHOLD
At the meeting of the Southold Town Conservation Advisory Council held Monday,
October 18, 2004, the following recommendation was made:
Moved by Don Wilder, seconded by Jack McGreevy, it was
RESOLVED to recommend to the Southold Town Board of Trustees APPROVAL WITH
A CONDITION of the Wetland Permit application of EAST OF EDEN, LLC to construct
a 4'X 68' set of timber stairs/platforms down bluff face to provide access from upland to
beach.
Located: 1380 Sound Dr., Greenport. SCTM#33-3-19.25
The CAC recommends Approval of the application with the Condition the existing swale
on top of the bluff is maintained, there is a pervious walkway, and the top of the bluff is
re-planted in order to stop erosion.
