Housing Inspector Edward Hindermann concerning the above referenced
application.
-Whereas Mr. Hindermann has inspected the premises and has
determined a Wetlana Permit is not required, I am hereby closing the
file, and by copy of this memorandum, notifying the interested agencies
that the SEQR process on this 'application is terminated.

Dear Gary:
I have reviewed the plan, project #8347 , dated 4/10/84 ,
for the proposed retaining wall.
Based on the plans and my visit to the premises to check
the stakes placed into bank for location of proposed wall , it
is my opinion that this project is not in wetlands as defined
under Sec. 97-13 of the Wetlands Ordinance, Chapter 97 , Code
of the Town of Southold.
A permit is not required from the Town for this project.

Dear Judy:
In the matter of the application of Garrett A. Strang for
Michael DiCarlo for a Wetland Permit to construct a retaining
wall for the prevention of additional erosion to the existing
natural bluff, North side of Calves Neck Road, 958 feet east
of Youngs Ave. , Southold, Trustee Bednoski stated that the
Trustees visited the site on May 23, 1984. There was no sign
of erosion. If this were approved it would be the first one
of this kind in the area and we didn't see that this was necessary.
We would like to see him replant in front to restore the beach
to it ' s natural state rather than to construct this retaining
wall. Trustee Smith stated that the Trustees thought that being
there are no retaining walls in this area, it may put a hardship
on the neighbors in the area, and we deem it unnecessary. The
Trustees also suggested planting vegetation up on .the bank.
On motion made by Trustee Bednoski seconded by Trustee Cochran
it was
RESOLVED to recommend to the Town Board disapproval of the Wetland
Application submitted by Garrett A. Strang for Michael DiCarlo,
without prejudice to future applications.

Dear Mrs. Terry:
The following action was taken by the Conservation Advisory
Council at a regular meeting held Tuesday, May 1, 1984 .
The Conservation Advisory Council has tabled application #192
submitted by Stanley R. Gould on behalf of Francis S. Perrone to
construct a catwalk, ramp and floating dock until more information
is available. At this time, there is no access to the property
and the Council feels that in order to have access, wetlands will
have to be destroyed.
RESOLVED to recommend to the Southold Town Board approval of
the wetland application- #193 submitted by Matt-A-Mar Marina to
install a floating dock, ramp and walkway. Mattituck.
RESOLVED to recommend to the Southold Town Board approval of
the wetland application #194 submitted by Costello Marine Contracting
Corporation on behalf of Alvah, Jr. , Bruce, and Allen Goldsmith to
construct bulkhead. Southold.
RESOLVED to recommend to the Southold Town Board approval of the
i wetland application #195 submitted by the Land Use Companv on behalf
of Edward Quintieri & Richard Pulcini to instlall bulkhead. Mattituck.
RESOLVED to recommend to the Southold Town Board approval of
the wetland application #196 submitted by John P. Kowalski to construct
catwalk, provided the catwalk is at least 2 ' above the spartina grass.

RESOLVED to recommend to the Southold Town Bjoard approval of the
wetland application #197 submitted by Chester Dickerson to repair and
backfill existing bulkhead. Southold.
RESOLVED to recommend to the Southold Town Board approval of the
wetland application #198 submitted by Enconsultants, Inc. on behalf
of Walter Trappe to construct a timber dock, fixed catwalk. Corey;:
Creek, Southold.

INSTRUCTIONS FOR PERMIT
A. This application is to be completely filled in by typewriter or ink and submitted to the Town
Clerk in quadruplicate, accompanied by writter permission from the owner of the property if not
the saine'as the applicant.
B. Pilot Plan must be 'drown to scale on the reverse side of this application showing the location
of property, the names and locations of owners of adjoining properties, and a detailed description
of proposed project. (Note: Copies of the Pilot Plan may be made by a copy machine and attached
•10 the Permit Application.)
C. No operation shall be initiated by the applicant until all permits that are required are issued.
D. A detailed statement of the rehabilitation and prc,posed condition of the premises after the*
work is completed must be given, including a survey if required.
E. If permit is being sought for a more sizeable excavation than the construction of a private
single dock or jetty, then this application must be accompanied by a survey and topographical map
certified by a registered land survey or Professional Engineer. The horizontal control of survey
shall be based upon an approval local coordinate system. The vertical control for elevation and sound-
ings shall be based upon United States Coast and Geodetic Survey and/or United States Geological
Survey datum.
F. A statement must accompany the application describing any known prior operations conducted
on the premises in question and whether any prior licenses or permits have been issued to erect
structures or to dredge or deposit fill on said premises and whether any such permits or licenses
were ever revoked or suspended by a governmental agency.
G. A filing fee of$50. 00 shall accompany the application. This filing fee includes one inspection. /
there is a $5.00 fee for each additional inspection.
H. The Town Board upon request of the applicant for a permit, may waive in whole or in part,
the provisions of Article II, Section 97-21subdivisions(D) and(G) where it finds that nature of the
proposed operations ore such that the requirements of such provisions are not necessary for a
proper consideration of a permit application.
I. Upon approval of this application the Town Clerk will issue a permit to the applicant. Such
p ermit shall be available for inspection at any time, upon request.
