Box 37 Greenport NY 11944 RE: SCTM #36-2-23.4 Dear Mr. Butler, The following action was taken by the Southold Town Board of Trustees at their Regular Meeting on September 22, 1999: RESOLVED, that the Southold Town Board of Trustees_~the application to construct a 100' long bulkhead based on standards set in Chapter 97-28 that the operations would adversely affect the wetlands of the town by putting fill and lawn up to that area that would cause damage from erosion, turbidity and siltation when a storm hits it and the wave energy is forced back into the wetlands. It would damage the wetlands and would increase the danger of flood and storm tide damage. It would prevent the storms energy from dissipating and instead concentrate the storms energy in a wetland area that's grown there. It could also possibly weaken and undermine the littoral support of the lands on either side. However, this determination is not a determination from any other agency. If you have any questions, please call our office at 765-1892. Sincerely, Albert J. Krupski, Jr. President, Board of Trustees AJK/djh Telephone (516) 765-1.892 Town Hall. 53095 Main Road P.O.
