INSTRUCTIONS
a. This application must be completely filled in by typewriter or in ink and submitted in duplicate to the Bui ding
Inspector.
b. Plot plan showing location of lot and of buildings on premises, relationship to .adjoining premises or public streets
or areas; and giving o detailed description of layout of property must be drawn on the diagram which is part of this location.
c. The work cowered by this appl.ication may not be commenced before issuance of Building Permit.
d. Upon approval of this application, the Buildinc~ Inspector will issue a Building Permit to the applicant. Such
permit shall be kept on the premises available for 'nspection throughout the progress of the work.
e. No building shall be occupied or used in whole or in part for any purpose whatever until e Certificate of Occupancy
shal have been granted by the Building Inspector.

Dear Sirs:
In accordance with the permission granted at the hearing of March 13, 1958,
we submit herewith on behalf of the objectants, a copy of our brief. An
additional copy is handed you herewith to be delivered to Mr. Edwards in
the event that we are unable to file one with him prior to the recessed
meeting of today.
On March 13th, we informed you that we desired to interpose objections on
behalf of Beverly Lomas and Katherine K. Firman, who are the owners of
the property adjoining the Edwards property on the west. We are now
advised by Mrs. Lomas that she would like to withdraw her objection and
we request that you note the same on the record.
We are enclosing herewith letter addressed to Mr. Henry Tasker from
Clement J. Wells dated March 23, 1958 which is self-explanatory and
which indicates Mr. Wells I objection to granting the relief sought.
We also hand you copy of letter received from Constance A. Erdman
dated March 21, 1958, likewise submitted in opposition to the application,.
and copy of letter dated March 27, 1958 from Lilian Dwight Stern, also
in opposition to the application.
On behalf of our clients, we wish to express our appreciation for the
courtesies extended in the matter of extensions of time and related
matters.

I wish to register my protest against the issuance to Isaac T. Edwards
of a variance for the construction of a garage on his property at Orient,
N. Y. I regard it as an extension of non-conforming use inasmuch as
I am informed that it is to be used for the purpose of storing commercial
vehicles used by the applicant in the conduct of his business.
I join with Mr. and Mrs. William W. Schriever in opposing this
application.

Dear Mr. Tasker,
It has come to my attention that Mr.!. T. Edwards, Main Road,
Orient, has applied to the zoning board for an "extension of a non-
conforming use", I believe he calls it, to comtruct a garage on his
property which will be in a position-five feet from his boundary- which
does not conform to the zoning laws.
This would result, in effect, in the placing of what amounts to a
commercial building in a strictly residential zone. As a near neighbor I
am unalteraliy opposed to such a structure.
If you are in a position to do so in your presentation of this case
I will appreciate your con veying to the zoning board my very strong
feelings in this matter.

Mrs. William W. Schriever has written me to tell me that Mr. Ike
Edwards of Orient, plans to apply to The Zoning Board for an "extension
of a non-conforming use" in order to build an extension to his house to
accomodate three commercial trucks.
My Erdman house and land property are situated a very short distance
north of this Edwards property and I feel very strongly that this commercialism
will lower the value of my property and constitute a monetary loss to me.
Therefore I am opposed to the granting of this'hon-conforming" extension.
