HomeMy WebLinkAboutMPD-11/10/2004 Minutes of the regular monthly meeting of the Board of Commissioners of the Mattituck Park District held on November 10. 2004, in classroom on the second floor of Mattituck Fire House, Pike Street, Mattituck, New York, with all Commissioners present, Jerome Zuhoski, Gerard Goehringer and Tom McCaffery, together with John Cushman, Treasurer, Madeline Haas, Secretary, and Mr. Williamson, a volunteer worker of the Park District. At 7:00 P.M. Gerard Goehringer declared the polls open and swore in Gail Faircloth and Barbara Goehringer as Tellers of Election. The election was held to elect a Commissioner to succeed Gerard Goehringer whose term expires December 31, 2004 . Jerome Zuhoski called the meeting to order at 7:05 P.M. On motion of Jerome Zuhoski, seconded by Gerard Goehringer and carried, the minutes of the October 18,2004 meeting were accepted as presented., On motion of Jerome Zuhoski, seconded by Gerard Goehringer and carried, the following Treasurer's report was approved and the following bills ordered paid: Cash $ 4,446.34 Cash in MBIA/CLASS 257,736.16 Total Assets $ 262,182.50 BILLS ORDERED PAID: AT&T $ 22.78 CITGO Petroleum Corporation 660.46 Farm Family Life Insurance 400.00 Island Portables 237.00 LIPA 879.81 Lou's Service Station Inc. 54.27 Penny Lumber 747.74 Maximum Graphix, LLC 500.00 Nextel Communications 293.52 Raymond F. Solid Waste 3.30 Times/Review Newspapers 51.12 Talbot Truck & Equipment 450.16 Verizon Wireless 19.57 Verizon 89.01 Island Portables 158.00 Chris Rehm 2,600.00 McMann Bros., Masonry Contractor 6,000.00 Gail Faircloth 20.00 Barbara Goehringer 20.00 Mr. Williamson gave the following estimated figures for the building at Aldrich Lane: Concrete footings, walls and floor $ 11,600.00 Chris Rehm excavating and bringing Site up to grade 3,600.00 Lumber from Penny Lumber 19,995.00 Estimate for framing building 29,005.00 Total estimated cost $ 64.200.00 On motion of Gerard Goehringer, seconded by Jerome Zuhoski, and carried, the following Budget Modifications were made: To: Hourly Personnel $ 22,000.00 Supplies & Materials 3,000.00 Legal Counsel 1.500.00 Social Security 2,000,00 From: Beach Attendants $ 2,000.00 Equipment 3,000.00 Insurance 15,000.00 Electric 2,500.00 Lifeguards 6,000.00 Kim Prokop entered the meeting to go over some things about the playground. Kim is to call Gail Wickham or the Representative of New York State to see when the last date is for using the $10,000.00 grant. The next monthly meeting of the Park Commissioners will be December 8, 2004. Secretary to publish the change in meeting date. The bulkhead at the foot of Love Lane was discussed as to what repairs were needed. Estimate from Bay Creek Builders for emergency repairs on Scouters Lodge was $13,400.00, Mr. Williamson reported that his wife and another woman picked up a good size back of broken class that was at the foot of the slide at the Veterans Park site playground. Commissioners discussed the playground and improvements to the Breakwater site playground. They discussed asking Kim Prokop if she would be willing the do the fund raising or maybe Chris Riviera would do something. Mr. Williamson was asked to look at the building at Breakwater to see what could be done to put the porch on and a wheelchair ramp. Gerard Goehringer reported he spoke to the builder at Veterans Park about the heating. Gerry would like to have hot water heat and then put in air conditioning at a later date. Commissioners would like Mr. Williamson to stay on the job at Veterans Park building site until it is completed. No further business to come before the meeting, on motion of Jerome Zuhoski, seconded by Gerard Goehringer, and carried, the meeting was adjourned.
