HomeMy WebLinkAboutMPD-10/18/2004 Minutes of the regular monthly meeting of the Board of Commissioners of the Mattituck Park District held on October 18, 2004 at the offfice of Wickham, Bressler, Geasa & Gordon, attorneys for the District, with all Commissioners present: Jerome Zuhoski, Chairman, Gerard Goehringer and Tom McCaffery, together with John Cushman, Treasurer, Madeline Haas, Secretary, Jim Cox, Sr., Crew Chief Leader, Gail Wickham and Mr. Williamson, a volunteer worker of the District. Jerome Zuhoski called the meeting to order at 7:05 P.M.. A card of thanks from the Graeb family for the flowers sent for Robert Graeb's funeral. Mr. Graeb was a past Treasurer of the District. On motion of Jerome Zuhoski, seconded by Tom McCaffery and carried, the minutes of the September meeting were accepted as presented. Bay Creek Builders was out looking at it. Jim Cox reported that the windows were not put in properly. Bay Creek Builders is going to present a detailed evaluation of what they saw and a full estimate of what it will cost to have it fixed. Gerard Goehringer reported that he had the builder at the Veterans Park site put in a couple of extra windows in the new building: Two on the west side and one on the east side. Gerry got them from Penny Lumber. It was reported that one of the light poles at Aldrich Lane came down in the bad wind storm. Someone from the Soccer Club was going to get in touch with Lilco,. Jerome Zuhoski got in touch with another man about the same thing and he hasn't heard from that person either. More shaved asphalt was gotten and Billy Shipman is going to spread it around at the Aldrich site. The roadway at the Lodge cannot use the shaved asphalt, only stone in the driveway because of environmental reasons. The meeting and vote for a Commissioner to fill the term of Gerard Goehringer's term which expires on December 31, 2004 will be held on Wednesday, November 10, 2004 from 7:00 P.M. to 9:00 P,M. at the firehouse. Gerard Goehringer reported seeing a 6-fioot grader box for $400.00 which he thought could be used by the District. On motion of Gerard Goehringer, seconded by Jerome Zuhoski and carried, the grader box is to be purchased. Mr. Goehringer was granted the use of the District's truck to go to pick it up at TSC in Glens Falls, NY. Mr. Williamson reported that on Thusday, Oct.21, 2004, they will start the clearing at Aldrich Lane for the new building. He also presented his estimate of the cost of$ in writing of erecting the building. Jerome Zuhoski told Jim Cox to have the lights turned off at all the sites after Aldrich Lane has had the poles taken down. The flag is to be taken down at the ramp and the tractor to go in for service. Everything is to be checked over.
