revocation of this Permit hy resolution of the said Board.
5. That mere will be no unreasonable interference with navigation as a result of the wack
herein audlOrized.
6. That there shall be no interference with the right of the public to pass and repass aloog
the beach between high and low water marks.
7. That if future operations of the Town of SouthoId require the removaI and/or alterations
in the location of the work herein authorized, or If, in the opinion of the Board of Trustees, the
work shall cause unreasonable obstruction to free navigation, the said Permittee will be required,
upon due notice. to remove or alter this work or project herein stated wiehout e%peDSes to the Town
of Southold.
8. Tha[ the said Board will be notified by the Permittee Ot the completion of the work auth-
orized.

Dear Mr. Anderson:
The following action was taken by the Board of Town Trustees
during its regular meeting held on October 27, 1999 regarding
the above matter:
WHEREAS, Suffolk Environmental Consulting, Inc. on behalf of
HELEN PAPAGIANAKIS applied to the Southold Town Trustees for a
permit under the provisions of the Wetland Ordinance of the Town
of Southold, application dated July 30, 1999, and,
WHEREAS, said application was referred to the Southold Town
Conservation Advisory Council for their findings and
recommendations, and,
WHEREAS, a Public Hearing was held by the Town Trustees with
respect to said application on October 27, 1999, at which time
all interested persons were given an opportunity to be heard,
and,
WHEREAS, the Board members have personally viewed and are
familiar with the premises in question and the surrounding area,
and,
WHEREAS, the Board has considered all the testimony and
documentation submitted concerning this application, and,
WHEREAS, the structure complies with the standard set forth in
Chapter 97 of the Southold Town Code,

WHEREAS, the Board has determined that
will not affect the health, safety and
people of the town,
the project as proposed
general welfare of the
NOW THEREFORE BE IT,
RESOLVED, that the Board of Trustees approve the application of
HELEN PAPAGIANAKIS to construct a 4'X 78' stairway including a
4'X II' landing and three (3) 4'X 4' landings.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that this determination should not be
considered a determination made for any other Department or
Agency which may also have an application pending for the same
or similar project.
Permit to construct and complete project will expire two years
from the date it is signed. Fees must be paid, if applicable,
and permit issued within six months of th~ date of this
notification.
Two inspections are required and the Trustees are to be notified
upon completion of said project.

As a follow up to the public hearing held on August 25, 1999 regarding the application
referenced above. please be advised that the proposed boat house is hereby withdrawn rrom
our current proposal without prejudice. The application before your Board is for the access
stairway only.
As stated by your Board during the public hearing of August 25. 1999, your Board is agreeable
to issue a pennit for the stairs only. Kindly do so during your regular meeting scheduled for
October 27,1999.
In a related matter, enclosed herewith please find Trustee Pennit #4385 which authorized the
cutting back of weeds and shrubs and the covering of topsoil near the bluff for reinforcement
granted to Steve Papagianakis on November 18, 1994. Accordingly, no issue exists with regard
to previous clearing adjacent to and upland of the bluff.
