Dear Mr. Gaipa,
The following action was taken by the Board of Town Trustees
during a Regular Meeting, held on July 21, 1999, regarding the
above matter:
WHEREAS, WALTER GAIPA applied to the Southold Town Trustees for
a permit under the provisions of the Wetland Ordinance of the
Town of Southold, application dated June 18, 1999 and,
WHEREAS 1 said application was referred to the Southold Town
Conservation Advisory Council for their findings and
recommendations, and
WHEREAS, a Public Hearing was held by the Town Trustees with
respect to said application on July 21, 1999, at which time all
interested persons were given an opportunity to be heard 1 and 1
WHEREAS 1 the Board members have personally viewed and are
familiar with the premises in question and the surrounding area,
and,
WHEREAS, the Board has considered all the testimony and
documentation submitted concerning this application, and,
WHEREAS, the structure complies with the standard set forth in
Chapter 97-18 of the Southold Town Code,
WHEREAS, the Board has determined that the project as proposed
will not affect the health, safety and general welfare of the
people of the town,
NOW THEREFORE BE IT,
RESOLVED, that the Board of Trustees approves the application of

WALTER GAIPA to build a set of stairs from e~isting deck to edge
of Marion Lake, with condition that the platforms not exceed 4'
in width. Located: 360 Lakeview Terrace, East Marion.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that this determination should not be
considered a determination made for any other Department or
Agency which may also have an application pending for the same
or similar project.
Permit to construct and complete proiect will expire two years
from the date it is signed. Fees must be paid, if applicable,
and permit issued within six months of the date of this
notification.
Two inspections are required and the Trustees are to be notified
upon completion of said project.

CONSERVATION ADVISORY COUNCIL
At the meeling of the Southold Town Conservation Advisory Council held Monday, July 19,
1999, the following recommendation was made:
Moved by Scott Hilary, seconded by Bret Hedges, it was
RESOL VED to recommend to the Southold Town Board of Trustees APPROVAL WITH A
STIPULATION of the Wetland Permit Application of WALTER GAIPA 36-9-12 to build a
set of stairs from the existing deck to the edge of Marion Lake,
360 Lakeview Terrace, East Marion
The CAC recommends Approval with the Stipulation that one landing be removed and size of
the second landing be reduced.

Dear Town Trustees,
Enclosed is application and fee for proposed construction of wooden staircase at my residence.
(Also currently applying to NYS DEC).
[n reference to the requirement of providing an current survey, less than one year old, [ am asking
for relief of that requirement. My most recent survey is dated Dec. 9, 1993. Our surveyor,
Roderick Van Tuyl is no longer in business and to have the property resurveyed by a new
surveyor would create an unnecessary hardship and expense. [ can attest that their are no
changes, whatsoever, to the current survey. [ only have one original stamped survey and will
provide it if necessary.
