As per your request, I am writing this letter to clarify that the scope of work indicated in the attached drawings for this filing do not require any energy calculations. The work proposed is an unenclosed porch, a screened porch area, an expansion of an existing roof deck with a roofed area of roof deck. Some window and door replacement and or reconfiguration and the creation of a new bathroom, and closets. According to The New York State Energy Conservation Construction Code 7810.6 Scope (c) Exempt Buildings (2) "Buildings and structures, or portions thereof, which are neither heated nor cooled by electricity or fossil fuel are exempt from this code." Further under section (d) this application does not meet any requirements of Substantial renovation as to require any calculations other than stating any replaced sub system(s) shall meet or exceed the minimum standards applicable. In this regard the exterior windows and doors indicated for replacement are to be fabricated with insulated glazing which shall be no more than U=0.58 in accordance with 7810.6 (d) 3 (iii). It should also be noted that where applicable any areas which are rendered accessible during construction insulation shall be installed given respect to the available confines of the existing construction which maximizes insulating value in accordance with the standard of component performance criteria.
