Doyen On motion of Councilman Rich, seconded by Justice Suter, it was RESOLVED that the minutes of the August 5, 1974, August 8, 1974, and August 13, 1974 Town Board meetings be approved as submitted. Vote of the Town Board: Ayes: Supervisor Martocchia, Councilman Rich, Councilman Homan, JustiCS Suter, Justice Demarest. On motion of Justice Demarest, seconded by CouncilMan Homan, ~t was RESOLVED that the next meeting of the Southold Town Board will be held at 3:00 P.M., Tuesday, September 10, 1974 at the office of Supervisor Albert M. Martocchia, 16 South Street, Greenport, New York. Vote of the Town Board: Ayes: Supervisor Martocchia, Councilman Rich, Councilman Homan, JustiCe Suter, Justice Demarest. Moved by Justice Demarest, seconded by Councilman Rich, it was RESOLVED that General Fund bills in the amount of $3,192.58 on a supplemental warrant for August be and the same are hereby approved for payment. Vote of the Town Board: Ayes: Supervisor Martocchia, Councilman Rich, Councilman Homan, Justice Suter, Justice Demarest. On motion of Justice Suter, secohded by Councilman Homan, it was RESOLVED that the Southold Town Board support the action of the Mattituck Park District in attempting to acquire from the State of New York a surplus strip of land on the southerly side of Main Road (Route 25) between Sigsbee Road and Marlene Lame, Mattituck. Vote of the Town Board: Ayes: Supervisor Martocchia, Councilman Rich, Councilman Homan, Justice Suter, Justice Dem~rest. Onmmotion of Justice Suter, seconded by Councilman Homan, it was RESOLVED that the Southold Town Board support the action of the Mattituck Park District in attempting to acquire from the County of Suffolk a surplus parcel of land located between Old Road (Tuthill Lane) and Wickham Avenue (Middle Road), Mattituck, near Wolf Pit Lake Park. Vote of the Town Board: Ayes: Supervisor Martocchia, Councilman Rich, Councilman Homart, Justice Suter, JustiCe Demarest. Moved by Councilman Homan, seconded by Councilman Rich, WHEREAS representatives of the Southold Town Board have, in the past, at various public hearings, protested the dumping of dredged material from the Thames River dredging project into Long Island Sound in the Fishers Island area, NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Southold Town Board is still strohgly opposed to dumping of dredged material from the Thames River project into Long Island Sound iR the Fishers Island area. Vote of the Town Board: Ayes: Supervisor Martocchia, Councilman Rich, Councilman Homart, Justice Surer, Justice Demarest. On motion of Councilman Rich, seconded by Justice Suter, it was RESOLVED that the Southold Town Board approves the amount of $53,000.00 bond as recommended by the Southold Town Planning Board for roads and improvements in the subdivision known as Sleepy Hollow", located at Southold, New York, and owned by Leo ~asneski. Vote of the Town Board: Ayes: Supervisor Martocchia, Councilman Rich, Councilman Homan, Justice Suter, Justice Demarest. On motion of Councilman Homan, seconded by Councilman Rich, WHEREAS the Sacred Heart R.C. Church, Cutchogue, New York has applied to the Town Clerk for a Bingo License, and I%rHEREAS the Town Board has examined the application, and after investigation, duly made findings and determinations as required by law, NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that~the Supervisor be and he hereby is authorized and directed to execute on behalf of the Town Board the findings and determinations required by law, and it is further HESOLVED that the Town Clerk be and he 'hereby is directed to issue a Bingo License to the Sacred Heart R. C. Church, Cutchogue, New York. Vote of the Town Board: Ayes: Supervisor Martocchia, Councilman Rich, Councilman Homan, Justice Suter, Justice Demarest. Moved by Councilman Homan, seconded by Justice Surer, WHEREAS a petition was received from Joseph J. Lizewski requesting a change of zone on certain property at Cutchogue, New York, said p~tition for a change from "A" Residential and Agricultural District to "B" Light Business District, NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Town Clerk of the Town of Southold be and he hereby is directed to transmit this application to the Planning Board in accordance with Article XV, Section 10'~-150 (B) of the Zoning Ordinance of the Town of Southold. Vote of the Town Board: Ayes: Supervisor Martocchia, Councilman Rich, Councilman Homan, Justice Surer, Justice Demarest. Moved by Justice Suter, seconded by Justice Demarest, WHEREAS W. Edgar Worthington has applied to the Town Board for a sln§le trailer renewal permit dated July 15, 1974, NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the application of ~. Edgar Worthington to locate a single trailer on his own property on the south side Sound Avenue, Mattituck, New York, be renewed for a period of six (6) months. Vote of the Town Board: Ayes: Supervisor Martocchia, Councilman Rich, Councilman Homan, Justice Suter, Justice Demarest. Moved by Justice Suter, seconded by C6uncilman Rich, WHEREAS Zdzislaw Mikolajczyk has applied to the Town Board for a single trailer renewal permit dated July 15, 1974, NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the application of Zdzislaw Mikolajczyk to locate a single trailer on the south side of private road, off east side Main Road, Mattituck, New York be renewed for a period of slx (6) months. Vote of the Town Board: Ayes: Supervisor Martocchia, Councilman Rich, Councilman Homan, Justice Suter, Justice Demarest. On motion of Justice Suter, seconded by Justice Demarest, it was RESOLVED that the application of Charles Sidorowicz for a single trailer permit, dated August 9, 1974, be held for study by the Town Board. Vote of the Town Board: Ayes: Supervisor Martocchia, Councilman Rich, Councilman Homan, Justice Suter, Justice Demarest. Moved by Councilman Homan, seconded by Justice Demarest, it was RESOLVED that a public hearing will be held by the Southold Town Board at the Supervisor's Office, 16 South Street, Greenport, New York, at 3:30 P.M., Tuesday, September 24, 1974, ih the matte~ of the application of Ralph C. Condit for a permit under the provisions of the Wetland Ordinance of the Town of Southold for the purpose of building an open dock across the meadow at his property, on Wells Road, Peconic, New York~ Vote of the Town Board: Ayes: Supervisor Martocchia, Councilman Rich, Councilman Homart, Justice Suter, Justice Demarest. Moved by Councilman Homan, seconded by Justice Demarest, it was RESOLVED that the Southold Town Board ~avors the Suffolk County 'Police Explorers Program, geared for Boy Scouts 16 years or older, in which the scouts work with the department in police functions for experience. Vote of the Town Board: Ayes: Supervisor Martocchia, Councilman Rich, Councilman Homan, Justice Suter, Justice Demarest. On motion of Justice Cuter, seconded by Justice Demarest, it was RESOLVED that an outdoor light be installed in the rear of the Town Court building, Main Road, Cutchogue, cost not to exceed $75.00. Moved by Councilman Rich, seconded by=Justice Demarest, it was RESOLVED that John Bopp, Mattituck, New York, be appointed Director Pr~rudeo am n r ~he ' Of ~he/Sout~oId Town Narcotic Guidance Council at a salary of $13,837.50 per year, subject to investigation by the Southold Town Police Department. Vote of the Town Board: Ayes: Supervisor Martocchia, Councilman Rich, Councilman Homan, Justice Suter, Justice Demarest. Moved by Councilman R&man, seconded by Councilman Rich, it was RESOLVED thag Thomas Helfr~h, Mastic Beach, New York, be appointed ~rogram unaer ne program aide to the/Southold Town Narcotic Guidance Council at a salary of $4,680.00 per year, subject to investigation by the Southold Town Police Department. Vote of the Town Board: Ayes: Supervisor Martocchia, Councilman Rich, Councilman Homart, Justice Suter, Justice Demarest. Moved by Justice Su%er, seconded by Councilman Homart, it was RESOLVED that Harry Charkow, Mattituck, New York, be and he hereby is recognized by the Town Board of the Town of Southold for being awarded the New York State Fireman of the Year Award for 1973, and the Board is proud that a Southold Town Fireman should be so honored. Vote of the Town Board: Ayes: Supervisor Martocchia, Councilman Rich, Councilman Homan, Justice Suter, Justice Demarest. Mrs. Gladys Csajko discussed the proposed dog pound. Mr. Donald Pinson, Cutchogue, requested the Town Board to allow him 30 days to determine if he could open a dog shelter in the Town of Southold. If this can be accomplished, it is possible he could be of service to the Town. Attorney George Stakevich appeared before the Town: Board representing opponents of the Southold Resins change of zone application. Moved by Councilman Rich, seconded by Councilman Homan, it was RESOLVED that this Town Board meeting be adjourned at 4:30 P.M.
