Martocchia, 16 South Street, Greenport, New York at 3:00 P.M., Tuesday, June 18, 1974, with the following present: Supervisor Albert M. Martocchia Councilman James H. Rich, Jr. Councilman James Homan Justice Martin Suter Justice Louis M. Demarest Town Attorney Robert W. Tasker Highway Superintendent Raymond C. Dean Town Clerk Albert W. Richmond Absent: Justice Francis T. Doyen Moved by Councilman Rich, seconded by Councilman Homan, it was RESOLVED that the minutes of the Southold Town Board meetings held on June 4 and June 7, 1974 be approved as submitted. Vote of the Town Board: Ayes: Supervisor Martocchia, Councilman Rich, Councilman Homan, Justice Suter, Justice Demarest. On motion of Councilman Homan, seconded by Councilman Rich, it was RESOLVED that the next meeting of the Southold Town Board will be held at 3:00 P.M., Tuesday, July 8, 1974 at the office of Supervisor Albert M. Martocchia, 16 South Street, Greenport, New York. Vote of the Town Board: Ayes: Supervzsor Martocchia, Councilman Rich, Councilman HomanjJustice Suter, Justice Demar~st. Onmmotion of Councilman Rich, seconded by Councilman Homan, it was RESOLVED that a recess be called at 3:30 P.M., to reconvene after the public hearing on the Keith Harrzs wetland application. Vote of the Town Board: Ayes: Supervisor Martocchia, Councilman Rich, Councilman Homan, Justice Suter, Justice Demarest. Meeting reconvened at 3:45 P.M. On motion of Councilman ~oman, seconded by Justice Demarest, it was RESOLVED that the following transfer of money be made within the Fishers Island Ferry District: $2,000 from Insurance Item to Auditing. Vote of the Tow~ Board: Ayes: Supervisor Martocchia, Councilman Rich, Councilman Homan, Justice Suter, Justice Demarest. On motion of Councilman Homan, seconded by Councilman Rich, it was RESOLVED that the following transfer of money be ~ade within the FisherS Island Ferry District: $1,5000ff~m Insurance Item to Commissioners Fees. Vote of the Town Board: Ayes: Supervisor Martocchia, Councilman Rich, Councilman Homan,Justice Suter, Justice Demarest. MOved by Justice Demarest, seconded by Justice Suter, it was RESOLVED that the Southold ToWn Board supports the action of the FiShers Island Ferry District in refusing to break their Lease with the City of New London wh6 has requested such a move so they may move the terminal for the Fishers Island Ferry ~sanother location. The Ferry D~istrict feels such a move would result in a massive traffic jam and be a detriment to their operation. Vote of the Town Board: Ayes: Supervisor Martocchia, Councilman Rich, ~ouncilman Homan, Justice Suter, Justice Demarest. On motion of Councilman Homan, seconded by Justice Suter, it was RESOLVED that the Southold Town Board engage in a summer recreation, arts, crafts and music program jointly with the following schools: Mattituck(Laurel, Mattituck, Cutchogue & New SuffOlk); Southold (Southold and Peconic); Greenport (Greenport and higher grades of East Marion and Orient); Oysterponds (regular grades); and all parochial schools (to participate at the respective schools in their areas); and to include all school age summer children in the Township for the given school area. Vote of the Town Board: Ayes: Supervisor Martocchia, Councilman Rich, Councilman Homan, Justice Suter, Justice Demarest. On motion of Councilman Homan, seconded by Councilman Rich, it was RESOLVED that the Southold Town Board reactivate the Citizens Town Hall Committee to select a new site for the proposed town hall. Vote of the Town Board: Ayes: Supervisor Martocchia, Councilman Rich, Councilman H~man, Justice Suter, Justice Demarest. On motion of Justice Demarest, seconded by Councilman Rich, it was RESOLVED that Supervisor Albert M~ Martocchia be and he hereby 'is authorized to purchase back from Greenport Ford-Mercury a second-hand police car for $1,000. Vote of the Town Board: Ayes: Supervisor Martocchia, Councilman Rich, Councilman Homan, Justice Suter, Justice ~emarest. Moved by Justice Demarest, seconded by Councilman Rich, it was RESOLVED that Chief Cataldo be and he hereby is authorized to send a representative of the Southold Town Police Department to a Crisis' Intervention Seminar to be held November 10 through 15, 1974 at Washington, D.C., and be it further RESOLVED that the actual and necessary expenses to travel, meals and lodging incurred while attending said Seminar be a legal charge against the Town of Southold. Vote of the Town Board: Ayes: Supervisor Martocchia, Councilman Rich, Councilman Homan, Justice Su~er, Justice Demarest. Moved by Councilman Rich, seconded by Councilman Homan, it was RESOLVED that Chief Carl Cataldo be and he hereby is authorize~ to equip the~extra police car being purchased by Supervisor Marto~chia. Vote of the Town Board: Ayes: Supervisor Martocchia, Councilman Rich, Councilman Homan, Justice Suter, Justice Demarest. Moved by Councilman Rich, seconded by Justice Demarest, WHEREAS the Burton Potter Post ~185 American Legion, Greenport, New York t~s applied to the Town Clerk for a Bingo License, and WHEREAS the Town Board has examined the application, and after investigation, duly made findings and determinations as required by law, NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Supervisor be and he hereby is authorized and directed to execute on behalf of the Town Board, the findings and determinations required by law, and it is further RESOLVED that the Town Clerk be and he hereby is directed to issue a Bingo License to the Burton Potter Post ~185, American Legion, Greenport, New York. Vote of the Town Board: Ayes: Supervisor Martocchia, Councilman Rich, Councilman Homan, Justice Suter, Justice Demarest. On motion of Councilman Homart, seconded by Councilman Rich, WHEREAS the Southold Town Planning Board and Suffolk County Department of Planning have prepared'official reports and recommendations on the application of Werner L. Adel, Jr. for a change of zcne from "A" Residential and Agricultural District to "C" Light Industrial District, NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that a public hearing will be held by the Southcld Town Board at 16 South Street, Greenport, New York on July 30, 1974 at 7:30 P.M. on the abovementioned petition, and that the Town Clerk be and he hereby is authorized and directed to cause notice of said hearing to be published in the official newspaper pursuant to the requirements of law. Vote of the Town Board: Ayes: Supervisor Martocchia, Councilman Rich, Councilman Homan, Justice S~ter, Justice Demarest. Moved by Justice Demarest, seconded by Councilman Homan, WHEREAS a petition was received from Louis Zaino and Armando Sardelli requesting a change of zone on certain property at Peconic, New York, said petition for a change from "A" Residential and Agricultural District to "B-i" General Business District, NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Town Clerk of the Town of Southold be and he hereby is directed to transmit this applica- tion to the Planning Board in accordance with Article XV, Section 100-150 (B) of the Zoning Ordinance of the Town of Southold. Vote of the Town Board: Ayes: Supervisor Martocchia, Councilman Rich, Councilman Homan, Justice Suter, Justice Demarest. On motion of Councilman Homan, seconded by Justice Demarest, it was RESOLVED that the Town Justices of the Town of Southold be and they hereby are authorized to attend Justice school at St. Lawrence University, Canton, New York on July 21 through 26, 1974, and be it further RESOLVED that the actual and necessary expenses to travel, meals and lodging incurred while attending said school be a legal charge against the Town of Southold.- Vote of the Town Board: Ayes: Supervisor Martocchia, Councilma~ Rich, Councilman Homan, Justice Suter, Justice Demarest. Mrs. Fred Cantrell and two other women complained of dog pro~ms in Cutchogue and asked about leash laws. Mr. James Knowles discussed the Cichanowicz trailer at Indian Neck Lane, Peconic. Mrs. Giadys Csajko discussed the proposed dog pound. Mrs. Gladys Csajko brought up the problem of wrecked cars coming to the surface at the beach on Conklin Point, Greenport. Mr. Eugene Danari discussed the straightening of the road at New Suffolk Avenue, Mattituck near the airport. Mrs. Mabel Lytle discussed notification of adjacent property owners in change of zone matters. Moved by Justiee Suter, seconded by Councilman Rich, it was RESOLVED that the meeting be a~journed at 4:45 P.M.
