SOU~t~OLD TOWN BOARD MINUTES
Meeting of June 7, 1974
The Southold Town Board met at the Office of Supervisor Albert M.
Martocchia, 16 South Street, Greenport, New York, at 8:00 A.M.,
Friday, June 7, 1974, with the following present:
~upervisor Albert M. Martocchia
Councilman James H. Rich, Jr.
Councilman James Homan
Justice Martin Suter
Justice Louis M. Demarest
Town Clerk Albert W. Richmond
Absent: Justice Francis T. Doyen
On motion of Councilman Homan, seconded by Councilman Rich, it was
RESOLVED that Supervisor Albert M. Martocchia be authorized to
purchase clams for transplant in the amount of $1200.00.
Vote of the Town Board: Ayes: Supervisor M~rtocchia, Councilman
Rich, Councilman Homan, Justice Suter, Justice Demarest.
Moved by Councilman Rich, seconded by Councilman Homan,
WHEREAS an action has been commenced in the Supreme Court by
Laurence Reevs and others against the Town Board and Bruce A. Norris
with respect to the rezoning of a portion of the Norris property
from "A" Residential and Agricultural District to "M" Light
Multiple Residence District,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that Smith, Finkelstein, Lundberg,
Baisley and Yakaboski ~ Riverhead, New York, be and it is hereby
appointed Special Counsel to defend the Town Board in such action.
Vote of the Town Board: Ayes: Supervisor Martocchia, Councilman
Rich, Councilman Homan, Justice Suter, Justice Demarest.
Moved by Justice Suter, seconded by Justice Demarest, it was
RESOLVED that Stuart MacMillan, Love Lane, Mattituck, be and he
hereby is appointed part-time Bay Consta~e for the Town of Southold
in the Mattituck area at $700.00 per season, from July 1, 1974
through September 3, 1974, and he shall supply h~ own boat and
equipL'~e~t.

On motion of Councilman Homan, seconded by Councilman Rich,
WHEREAS Frank Cichanowicz III applied to the Town Board for a single
trailer permit dated May 29, 1974,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the application of Frank
Cichanowicz III to locate a single trailer at Indian Neck Lane,
Peconic, New York be and hereby is granted for a period of six (6)
months, subject to the approval of the Board of Appeals.
Vote of the Town Board: Ayes: Supervisor Martocchia, Councilman
Rich, Councilman Homan, Justice Suter, Justice Demarest.
On motion of Justice Suter, seconded by Justice Demarest, it was
RESOLVED that the Southold Town Board authorizes payment of $160.00
for the use of a bus to transport the Mattituck Senior Citizens to
Shea Stadium on July 10, 1974.
Vote of the Town Board: ,Ayes: Supervisor Martocchia, Councilman
Rich, Councilman Homan, Justice Surer, Justice Demarest.
On motion of Councilman Rich, seconded by Councilman Homan, it was
RESOLVED that General bills in the amount of $179,476.34; Fishers
Island Ferry District bills in the amount of $24,616.34; Highway
bills in the amount of $63,886.00; and ~pecial District bills in
the amount of $17,508.18 be ~Rd the same are hereby ordered paid.
Vote of the Town Board: Ayes: Supervisor Martocchia, Councilman
Rich, Councilman Homan, Justice Suter, Justice Demarest.
