Meeting'of June 4, 1974
The Southold Town Board met at the office of:Supervisor Albert
Martocchia, 16 South Street, Greenport, New York, at 3:00-P.M.,
Tuesday, June 4, 1974, with the following present:
Supervisor Albert M. Martocchia

On motion of Justice Suter, seconded by Councilman Homan it was
RESOLVED that the minutes or,the Southold Town Board meetin9 held
on May 21, 1974 be and they hereby are approved.
Vote of the Town Board: Ayes: Supervisor Martocchia, Justice
Suter, Justice Demarest, Councilman Rich, Councilman Homan~.
Moved by Justice Suter, seconded by Justice Demarest, it was
RESOLVED that the next meeting of the Southold Town Board will be
held at 8:00 A.M., Friday, June 7, 1974 at the office of Supervisor
Albert M. Martocchia, 16 South Street, Greenport, New York.
Vote of the Town Board: Ayes: Supervisor Martocchia, Justice Suter,
JuStice Demarest, Councilman Rich, Councilman Homan.
On motion of Councilman Rich, seconded by Justice Demarest, it was
RESOLVED that a regular meeting of the Southold Town Board will be
held at 3:00 P~M., Tuesday, June 18, 1974 at the office of Supervisor
Albert M. Martocchia, 16 South Street, Greenport, New York.
Vote of the Town Boar~: Ayes:. Supervisor Martocchia, Justice Suter,
Justice Demarest, Councilman Rich, Councilman Homan.
On motion of Councilman Rich, seconded by Councilman Homan, it was
RESOLVED that the reports for the month of May, 1974 for the Building
Department, Justice Suter, Supervisor Martocchia and Town Clerk
Richmond be and they hereby are accepted by the Town Board and
placed on file.
Vote of the Town Board: Ayes: Supervisor Martocchia, Justice Suter,
Justice Demarest, Councilman Rich, Councilman Homan.
On motion of Councilman Homan, seconded by Justice Suter, it was
RESOLVED that the Southold Town Board accept Isadore Krupski's
withdrawal of his application for a change of zone from "A" Residential
and A~ricultural Districtto "B-i" General Business District on
certain property on the northeast corner of Cox Lane and Middle
Road, Cutchogue, New York.
Vote of the Town Board~ Ayes: Supervisor Martocchia, Justice Suter,
Justice Demarest, Councilman Rich, Councilman Homan.
Moved by Justice Suter, seconded by Justice Demarest, it was
RESOLVED that Supervisor Albert M. Martocchia be and he hereby is
authorized to appoint Leander Glover Jr., Edward Lademann, George
Lessard, A. John Gada, Jr. and A. John Gada,=Sr. as Fire Coordinators
for the Town of Southold, and authorize the transfer of radios and
furnish necessary equipment.
Vote of the Town Board: Ayes: Supervisor Martocchia, Justice Suter,
Justice Demarest, Councilman Rich, Councilman Homan.
Moved by Justice Suter, seconded by Justice Demarest, it was
RESOLVED that the Southold Town Board accepts with regret the
resignation of Lawrence Re from the Southold Town Narcotic Guidance
Council.
Vote of the Town Board: Ayes: Supervisor Martocchia, Justic~ Suter,
Justice Demarest, Councilman Rich, Councilman Homan.
On motion of Councilman Rich, seconded by Justice Suter, it was
P~ESOLVED that Supervisor Albert M. Martocchia be and he hereby is
authorized to protest to the Corps of Army Engineers, New York
District, the granting of an application, under Public Notice No.
7690, to ~hilip Barth and Harold Taubin for a permit to install a
float line in Southold Bay at Southold, next to the Southold Park
District property on Terry Lane.
Vote of the Town Board: Ayes: Supervisor Martocchia, Justice Suter,
Justice Demarest, Councilman Rich, Councilman Homan.
Moved by Councilman Homan, seconded by Con~cilman Rich, it was
P~ESOLVED that Supervisor Albert M. Martocchia be and he hereby
is authorized to purchase, by advertising for bids or through the
Suffolk County contract, a mini bus for the Town of Southold.
Vote of the Town Board: Ayes: Supervisor Martocchia, Justice Surer,
Justice Demarest, CQuncilman Rich, Councilman Homan.
Moved by Justice Suter, seconded by Councilman Rich,
WHEREAS Mabel Miles has applied to the Town Board for a single
trailer renewal permit dated May 21, 1974,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the application of Mabel Miles
to locate a single trailer on her property on private road, 6ff
north side Main Road, Mattituck, New York be and hereby is granted
for a period of six (6) months.
Vote of the Town Board: Ayes= Supervisor Martocchia, Justice Suter,
Justice Demarest, Councilman Rich, Councilman Homan.
Moved by Councilman Rich, seconded by Councilman Homan,
~HEREAS the Grisweld-Terry-Glover Post ~803, American Legion,
Southold, New York applied to the Town Clerk for a Bingo License, add
WHEREAS the Town Board has examined the application, and after
investigation, duly made findings and determinations as required
by law,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Supervisor be and he hereby
is auhhorized and directed to execute on behalf of the Town Board
the findings and determinations required by law, and it is further
RESOLVED that the Town Clerk be and he hereby is directed to issue
a Bingo License to the Griswold-Terry-Glover Post ~803, Southold,
New York.

Justice Demarest, Councilman Rich, Councilman Homan.
Moved by Councilman Roman, seconded by Justice Suter,
~EREAS the Sacred Heart R. C. Church, Cu~chogue, New York has
applied to the Town Clerk for a Bingo License, and
WHEREAS the Town Board has examined the application, and after
investigation, duly made findings and determinations as required
by law, ~,i~H~RE~E~eBE IT
RESOLVED that the ~Q~r~is~k be and he hereby is authorized and
directed to execute on behalf of the Town Board, the-findings and
determinations required by law, and it is further
RESOLVED that the Town Clerk be and he hereby is directed to
issue a Bingo License to the Sacred Heart R. C. Church, Cu~chogue,
~ew York.
Vote of the Town Board: Ayes: Supervisor Martocchia, Justice Suter,
Justice Demarest, Councilman Rich, Councilman Homan.
Application of Frank Cichanowicz III, dated May 29, 1974, for a
single trailer permit at Indian Neck Lane, Peconic was received
and is being held for study.
Moved by Councilman Homan, seconded by Councilman Rich,
WHEREAS the Nassau Farms Association has applied to the Town Board
for financial assistance in dredging the channel at Little Creek,
Cutchogue,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that Supervisor Albert M. Martocchia
be and he hereby is authorized to contribute half of the total cost
up to but not exceeding the sum of $475.00 toward the cost of
dredging the channel at Little Creek, Cutchogue, New York.
Vote of the Town Board: Ayes: SDpervisor Martocchia, Justice Suter,
Justice Demarest, Councilman Homan, Councilman Rich.
On motion of Justice Demarest, seconded by Counc'ilman Rich, it was
RESOLVED that Supervisor Albert M. Martocchia be and he hereby is
authorized to ~eturn $500.00 of the deposit Custodio Brandi placed
with the Town of Southold for the Concession at the Southold Town
Beach, Arshamomaque, and accept his withdrawal from the contract.
Vote of the Town Board: Ayes: Supervisor Martocchia, Justice Suter,
Justice Demarest, Councilman Rich, Councilman Homan.
Moved by Justice Demarest, seconded by Justice Suter, it was
RESOLVED that the Southold Town Board release withdrawal slip in
the amount of $15,000 by Clarence Fleet, as recommended by the
Southold Town Planning Board and Superintendent of Highways for the
completion of roads in the subdivision known as Big Green AcreS,
at Pequash Avenue, Cutchogue, New York.
Vote of the Town Board: Ayes: Supervisor Martocchia, Justice Suter,
Justice Demarest, Councilman Rich, Councilman Homan.
Moved by Justice Demarest, seconded by Councilman Rich, it wa~
RESOLVED that the Southold Town Board appoint a special ~ommittee
to secure an amendment to the Environmental Conservation Law. Such
cmmmittee shall consist of two Southold Town Trustees, two Tow~
Board members, one Conservation Advisory Board member, and one
Planning Board member.
Vote of the Town Board: Ayes: Supervisor Martocchia, Justice Suter,
Justice Demarest, Councilman Rich, Councilman Homan.
Appli6ation No. 18 for a Wetland Permit was received from Ralph C.
Condit, Wells Road, Peconic, for permission to build an open ~dock
across the meadow at his property on Wells Road, Peconic.
Mr. Paul Viegra, Horton's Point, Southold, spoke t~ the Board~
protesting the littering, vandalism, annoyance, and poor condition
of the steps at the end of Lighthouse Road, Southold, and requested
that the area be we~l supervised or closed.
Mrs. Gladys Csajko questioned the cost of the dog pound.
Mr. Richard C~n requested information on the possible purchasing or
condemning by Suffolk County of the property he has an interest in
at Orient Point.
On motion of Justice Demarest, seconded by Councilman Homan, it was
RESOLVED that this Town Board meeting be adjourned at 4:10 P.M.
