Moved by Justice Suter, seconded~by Councilman Rich, W~IEREAS Florence Steiner applied to the Town Board for a single trailer renewal permit,de~iration date.March 27, 1974, NOW, TPIEREFORE, BE IT ~ESOLVED that the application of Florence Steiner to ~ocate a single t~ailer on her p~operty, at privates-road (John's Road), Mattituck, New York, be and hereby is granted for a period of six (6 months. Moved by Justice Suter, seconded by Councilman Homart, WHEREAS George McCarthy applied to~the Town Board for a single trailer renewal permit, expiration date February 27, 1974, NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLED that the application of George McCarthy to locate a single trailer on his property at the south side Main Ro~d, Laurel, New York, be and hereby is granted for a period of six (6) months. Vote of the Town Board: Ayes: Supervisor Martocchia, Councilman Rich, Councilman Homan,Justice Suter, Justice Demarest. On motion of Justice Demarest, seconded by Councilman Rich, it was RESOLVED that Edward Hindermann be appDinted Housing Inspector for the Town of Southold at his present salary of $8,212.00 per year. Such appointed position to be at the pleasure of the Town Board unless otherwise provided for by law. Moved by Councilman Homan, seconded by CQuncilman Rich, W/~EREAS the Southold Town Planning Board and Suffolk County Planning Board have prepared official reports and recommendations on the application of L~sure Greens, Inc. for a change of zone from "A" Residential and Agricultural District to "M-I" General Multiple Residence District, NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that a public hearing will be held by the Southold Town Board at Greenport, New York, 16 South Street, on April 23, 1974 at 7:30 P.M. on the abovementioned petition, and that the Town Clerk be and he hereby is authorized and directed to cause notice of said hearing to be published in the official news- paper pursuant to the requirements of~law. Vote of the Town Board: Ayes: Supervisor Martocchia, Councilman Rich,-Councilman Homan, Justice Suter, Justice Demarest. Moved by Justice Demarest, seconded by Justice Suter, WHEREAS the Orient Mosquito District requests an increase of $2,000.00 in their present tax limitation which is $5,000.00, NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Southotd Town Board rqquest the Hon. Perry B. Duryea to introduce a Bill authorizing the Town of Southold to increase the amount contained in its annual budge~ for-the expenses of the Orient Mosquito District from $5,000.00 to $7,000.00. Moved by Councilman-R~ch, seconded by Councilman Homan, WHEREAS the Burton Potter Post ~185, American Legion, Greenport, New York, applied to the Town Clerk for a Bingo License Amendment, and - WHEREAS the Town Board has-~-examined the application, and after investigation, duly made findings and determinations as req~ired by law; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the-Supervisor be and he hereby is authorized and directed to execute on behalf of the Town Board, the findings and determina.tions required by law, and it is further RESOLVED that the.Town Clerk be and he hereby ~s directed to issue an amended Bingo License to the Burton ~otter Post ~185, American Legion, Greenport, New York. On motion of Councilman Homart, seconded by Councilman Rich, WHEREAS the Sacred Heart R. C. Church, Cutchogue, New York applied to the Town Clerk for a Bingo License,-and ~EREAS the Town Board has examined the application, and after investigation~ duly made f~ndings and determinations as required by law, NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Supervisor be and he hersby is authDrized ~nd directed to execute on behalf of the Town Board, the findings and determinations required by law, and it is further RESOLVED that ~he Town Clerk be and he hereby is directed to~ issue a Bingo License to the Sacred Heart R. C. Church, Cutchogue, New York. Vote of the Town Board: Ayes: Supervisor Martocchia, Councilman Rich, Councilman Homan, Justice Suter, Justice Demarest. On:motion of Councilman Homan, seconded.~y Councilma~ ~ie~, i~ was RESOLVED that a recess be called.at 4:30-P.M., to reconvene at 5:~30 P.M. On motion of Councilman Homan, seconded by Justice Suter, .it was RESOLVED that the Southold Town Board authorizes the payment of a bill for blacktopping a portion of the highway in front of the Cutchogue Fire Department, providing such bill is< presented on a proper voucher, Vote of the Town Board: Ayes: Supervisor Martoccbia, Councilman Rich, Councilman Homan, Justice Suter, Justice Demarest. Moved by Councilman Homan, seconded by Councilman Rich, it was RESOLVED that General bills in the amount of $20,599.13 ; Fishers Island Ferry District bills in the amount of $37,937.69 ; Highway bills in the amount of $,1=1,~03.29 ; and Special District bills in an~ the amount of $458.06 ; as well as a bill on the proper voucher for the blacktopping of a portion of the highway in front of the Cutchogue Fire Department be and the same are hereby ordered paid. Vote of the Town Board: Ayes: Supervisor Martocchia, Councilman Rich, Councilman ~oman, Justice Surer, Justice Demarest. *and Federal Revenue Sharing $1,794.56 On motion of Councilman Homart, seconded by Councilman Rich, i~t was RESOLVED that Supervisor Albert M. Martocchis be and he hereby is authorized to negotiate the application for Nutrition Project~ Award Under~ Title VII of the Older: Americans Act, New~ York .S~ate E~ec~tiVe Department, Office f'or the Aging, Albany, New Yo~k. Vote of the T~wn Board: Ayes: Supervisor Martocchia, Councilm~n Rich, Councilman Homan,Justice Suter, Justice Demarest. On motion of Justice Demarest, seconded by Justice Sute~ it was RESOLVED that the Southold Town Board approves the action of the Fishers Island Ferry District in signing a five year contract (April 1, 1974 through March 31, 1979) with Richard Grebe, Fishers Island, New Y~rk, for the~lease of the Fishers Island Airport at a rent of $2,500.00 per year. Vote of the Town Board: Ayes: Supervisor Martocchia, Councilman Rich, Councilman Homart, J~stice Suter, Justice Demarest. A letter was received from Greenport Village Mayor David E. Wal~r stating that the Village Board has authorized him to advise the Town that it is the intent of the Village of Greenport to deed eigh~ (8) acres of land on the westerly side of Moore's Lane, Greenport at no cost to the Town of Southold on the condition that the electors of the Town of Southold approve a referendum to construct a Town Hall to house at least the administrative and legislative branches of the Town Government, and that bids are let for such construction. A ~elegation of interested citizens brought before the Town Board a request to purchase or in some way prevent the destruction of Hummels Pon~ at Southold. A letter was presented from the North Fork Audubon Society relative to the preservation of Hummels Pond. (Copy of letter on file in the Town Clerk's Office.) A request was made to the Town Board to pass an Unsafe Buildings and Structures Ordinance. Meeting recessed at 5:45 P.M. Meeting adjourned at 9:30 P.M. Albert W. Richmond Town Clerk
