WAIVER OF NOTICE OF TOWN BOARD MEETING
WE,the undersigned, being members of the Town Board of the Town of
Southold, Suffolk County, New York, do hereby severally waive notice of
the time, place, and purpose of the~meeting of the Town Board to be
held at Greenport, in the Town of Southold, New York, on Tuesday,
May 31, 1960, and do hereby consent that the same be held on said
date for the transaction of any business which may properly come before
said meeting. Dated: May 31, 1960, Southold, New York.

A special meeting of the Southold Town Board was ~eld at the office of
the Supervisor, Greenport, N.Y. on Tuesday, May 31, 1960, the members
of the Board having waived notice of the time, place and purpose of the
meeting. The meeting was called to order by Supervisor Henry H. Tuthill
at 7:30 P.M. with the following present: SUPervisor Tuthill; Councilmen
Albertson and Demarest; Justices Tuthill and Clark; Attorney Tasker,
Highway Supt. Price and Town Clerk Richmond.
Moved by Councilman Albertson; seconded by Councilman Demarest:
WHEREAS, the Southold American Legion Griswold-Terry-Glover Post $803,
Southold, has applied to the Town Clerk for an Amendment to their Bingo
License, and
WHEREAS, the Town Board has examined the application and after invest-
igati~ the matter duly made findings and determinations as required by
law, NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED: That the Supervisor be and he
hereby is authorized and ~irected to execute on behalf of this Board
the findings and determinations required by law and it is further
RESOLVED: That the Town Clerk be and he hereby is directedsto issue a
Bingo License Amendment to the South01d American Griswold-Terry, Glover
Post ~803.
Vote of Town Board: Ayes-Supervis~ Tuthill; Councilmen ~lbertso~ and
Demarest; Justices Tuthill and Clark.
Moved by Justice clark; seconded by Councilman Demarest:
WHEREAS, The Burton Potter Post $185 American Legion has applied to the
Town Clerk for an amendment to their Bingo License and
WHEREAS, the Town Board has examined the application and after investig-
ating the matter, duly made findings and determinations as required by
law, NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED: That the Supervisor be and he here-
by is authorized and directed to execute on behalf of this Board the
findings and determinations required by law and it is further
RESOLVED: That the Town Clemk be and he hereby is directed to issue a
Bingo License Amendment to the Burton Potter Post $185 American Legion.
Vote of Town Board: Ayes-Supervis~ Tuthill; Councilmen Albertson and-
Demarest; Justices Tuthill and Clark.
Moved by Conncilman Albertson; seconded by Justice Clark:
RESOLVED: That Supervisor Tuthill be and he hereby is authorized and direct-
ed to apply to the N.Y.S. Commission for a renewal of the REcreation
Project for the Town of Southold.
Vote of Town Board: Ayes-Supervisor Tuthill; Councilmen Albertson and
Demarest; Justices Tuthill and Clark.
Moved by Conncilman Albertson; seconded by Justice Clark:
W~EREAS, Mervin Gruschkin appeared before the Town Board stating that
the wiring and voltage at the concession stand, Long Island Sound, at
Arshamomaque, is not sufficient to take care of the equipment he has
installed there,
RESOLVED: That the Town install new 100 amp wiring in the concession
stand, the cost not to exceed One Hundred Dollars ($100.00)

Moved by Councilman Alber~tson; seconded by Councilman Demarest:
RESOLVED: That James P. Mellas, 421 4th Street, Greenport, N.Y.
be and he hereby is appointed Police Patrolman (Constable) of
the Town of Southold, for a probationary period of six months,
following the date the al0pO~Rtment becomes effective and be it
furtherRESOLVED: That James P. Mellas will serve in the capacity
of POlice Patrolman ~,(Constable) of the Town of Southold at the
pleasure of the ~DwnTBoard, and be it further
RESOI~VED~'~ That the .compensation ~uring the probationary period
be fixed at Seventeen Dollars ($17.00) per day, five days per
week, payable in regular bi-weekly payments, and be it further
RESOLVED: That this probationary period take effect on June 4,
1960.
