The Southold Town Board met at the office of Supervisor Henry H.
Tut~itl at Greenport, on Tuesday, March 22, 1960, The meeting was
called to order at 1:30 P.M. with the following present: Supervisor
Tuthill; Councilmen Albertson and Demarest; Justices Tuthill and
Cla~k;,Supt of Highways Price; Town Attorney Taskerand Town Clerk
~ich~ond.
Moved by Councilman Atbertson; seconded by Justice Clark:
RESOLVED: That the minutes of the meeting of March 8, 1960, be
and they hereby are duly approved as read~
Voteof Town Board: Ayes-Supervisor Tuthill; Councilman Albertson;
JuStices Tuthill and Clark.
MoVedby Councilman Albertson; seconded by Justice Tuthill:
WHEREAS, a petition was received from Grace Nickles requesting
a change of zone of certain property described in said petition
from "A" Residential and Agricultural District to "B" Business
District,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED: That the Town Clerk of the Town
of~southold be and he is hereby directed to transmit this applic-
ation~to the Planning Board in accordance with Section 901, Sub-
division C of Article iX of the Building Zone Ordinance of the
Town of Southold, Suffolk County, New York.
Vote of Town Board: Ayes-Supervisor ~thill; Councilmen Albertson
and Demarest; Justices Tuthill and Clark.
Moved by Councilman Albertson; seconded by Justice Clark:
RESOLVED: That Bond No. 741822, issued by the Glens Falls Insur-
ance Company in the name of~Theodore B. Howard in the sum of
$1000.00 be and the same is hereby approved as to its form,
manner of execution and sufficiency of sureties therein.

and Demarest; Justices Tuthilt' and Clark.
-Supervisor Tuthill read a letter to the Town Board from William
H.. Gardner, Captain of Police Training Bureau, which was written
to Chief of Police Otto Anrig, congratutati~ the members of the
Southold Town Police Department who attended the Pilot Recruit ir
Training Course for their grades and good attendance. The letter
stated that Patrolmen ~oRen and Walden were ~dredit to Chief
Anrig's department. A letter from William P. Boken and Robert
E. Walden wasalso read thanking the Town Board and Chief ~_nrig
for. the privilege of attending said school and for supplying
transportation.
Moved by Councilman Albertson; seconded byJustice Tuthill:
RESOLVED: That the Town Clerk be and he hereby is directed to request
the Long Island Lighting Company to install new mercury vapor
street lights in the Cutchogue Lighting District as per maps of
Long Island Lighting Company $758, dated 7/13/59 and $759, dated
7/20/59 and in addition to this, one 400 w mercury vapor overhead
street light on Pole $5 on New Suffolk Lane,

RESOLVED: That the regular monthly meeting-6~ the Town Board be
held at the Supervisor's Office 16 South Street,Greenport, N.Y.
on Tuesday, April 12, 1960, at 1:30 P.M.

RESOLVED: That Supervisor Tuthill be and hereby is authorized ~and~.
directed to advertise for sealed proposals for operation of con-
cession stand and facilities at the Southold Town Beach in Ar~sha~
momaque for a term of~ five years from May 31, 1960, under the
terms and conditions contained in the .prepared form of agreement
by Town Attorney Tasker, said bids to be opened on the 12th day~
of April, 1960 at 2 o'clock P.M. at the office of the Supervisor
Gr eenpor t, N.Y.

RESOLVED: That Supervisor Tuthill be and he hereby is authorized
to trade in a typewriter toward purchase of new I.B.M. typewriter.,'
cost not to exceed $202.50.

RESOLVED: That the salary of Mildred Chapman, Clerk to the REceiver
o~ Taxes and Town Assessors, be and hereby is fixed at $14.00 per
day. Vote of Town Board: Ayes-Supervisor Euthii1; Councilmen
Albertson and Demarest; Justices Tuthill and Clark.
Moved by Justice Clark; seconded by Justice Tuthill: ·
RESOLVED: That Supervisor Tuthill be and hereby is authorized to
purchase gas tank and pump to be installed at the Town Dump., Cutchogue,
cost not to exceed $75.00.

and Demarest; Justices Tuthill and Clark.
