The Southold Town Board met at the office of Supervisor Norman
E. Klipp at Greenport, on TueSday, November 24, 1959. The
meeting was c&~led to order at 1:30 P.M. with the, following
present: Supervisor Klipp; Councilmen Albertson and Demarest;
Justices Tuthill and Clark; Supt. of Highways Price and Town
Clerk Booth.
Moved by Justice Clark; seconded by Justice Tuthill"
RESOLVED: That theminutes of the meeting of November 5,1959,
be and hereby are duly approved as read.
Vote of Town Board: Ayes: Supervisor Klipp; Councilmen Albertson
and Demarest; Justices Tuthill and Clark.
Moved by Councilman Albertson; seconded by Justice Clark:
RESOLVED: That the Town Board will meet at the office of Super-
visor Norman E. Klipp; at Greenport, on Friday, November 27,
1959, at 7 o'clock P.M.
Vote of Town Board: Ayes-Supervisor Klipp; Councilmen Albertson
and Demarest; Justices Tuthill and Clark.
Moved by Councilman Albertson; seconded by Ju~ice Clark:
RESOLVED: That Bond No. Fl17609, issued by The Fidelity and
Casualty Company of New York on behalf of Chester M. Dickerson
in the sum of Fifty Thousand Dollars ($50,000) be and the same
is hereby approved as to its form, manner of execution and
sufficiency of sureties therein.

RESOLVED: That Bond No. SM178-331-4, issued by the American
Motorists Insurance Company on behalf of Lester M. Albertson
in the sum of One Thousand Dollars ($1,000.00) be and the
s~me is hereby approved as to its form, manner of execution
and sufficiency of sureties therein.

WHEREAS,THERE was an error in the advertisement which appeared
in the Suffolk Times for proposals to furnish to the Town of
Southold five new 1960 2-door Sedans for use as police ears,
the error being in the minimum wheel base which showed 119
inches and should have been 118 inches,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED: That all bids be rejected
and that the bids be returned unopened to the persons sub-~
mitting the bids and be it further
RESOLVED: That the Town Board readvertise for new bids which
will be received and publicly opened and read at the Super-
visor's office, on Friday, November 27, 1959, at 7:30 P.M.

RESOLVED: That Anita White be and hereby is appointed Dog
Enumerator for Fishers Island, Town of Southold, New York,
for~the year 1960.

WHEREAS, a communication was received from Mercator C. Kendrick
Esq. of Southampton L.I., stating that he wasin~olved in an
automobile collision in Southold Town, the accident~having been
investigated by Chief Anrig and Patrolman Hulse, and he having
commented on the excellent work which the town police department
does, he it
RESOLVED: That this letter be forwarded to Chief Anrig to be
placed on the Bulletin Board in the Police Department. ~

WHEREAS, an applicatioh was received from FREDERICK R. KETCHAM
of Mattituck, relative to a change of zone,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED: That the Town Clerk of the Town
of Southold be and he hereby is directed to transmit this applic-
ation to the Planning Board in accordance with Section 901,
Subdivision C of Article lX of the Building Zone Ordinance of the
Town of Southold.

Town of Southold.

RESOLVED: That ALF~ GREBE and WILLIAM UNKELBACH, members of
the Southold Town Planning Board be and hereby are authorized
to attend the zoning Convention to be held December 5, 1959, at
the Patchogue Hotel, Patchogue, N.Y., and be it further
RESOLVED: That the necessary expenses incurred while attending
said meeting are a legal charge against the Town up to but not
to exceed the sum of $7.50 per person and transportation.

WHEREAS, LULA EASTER base, lied to the Town Board for a single
automobile trailer permit,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED: That the application of LULA EASTER
~ to locate a single automobile trailer on her property on Linnet
Street, Greenport, N.Y., is hereby granted for a period of two ~
years from the 24th day of November, 1959, which term will ~end
on tt~23rd da~ of November, 1961.

RESOLVED: That the Superintendent of Highways of the Town of
Southold be and he hereby is authorized to advertise for bids '
and purchase from the lowest bidder, oneenew Etnyre Model . ~
FX-400 Style P Asphalt Distributor, or equal, with a1250 gallon
tank, to be mounted on a 1959 International Model B-182 chassis
now owned by the Town of Southold, one1934 one thousand gallon
· outh Bend Asphalt Distributor to be taken in trade as part pay-
ment on new distributor.

RESOLVED: That the Town Clerk'be and he hereby is directed to
request the Long Island Lighting Company to install one (1) 100
cp aerial street light on pole $10 on Riley Avenue in the Mattit-
uck $I Lighting District.

RESOLVED: That this meeting of the Town Board be and hereby is
recessed at 2:45'P.M. and will reconvene at the Supervisor's
Office at 7:00 o'clock P.M.

The Town Board reconvened at the Supervisor's'Office at 7:00 P.M.
The Public hearing on the petition of HENRY G. WENZEL, JR. for
a change of zone from "A" Residential and Agricultural District
to "B" Business District and on the petition of ARLIN DeGUIMARAES
for a; change of zone from "A" Residential and Agricultural
District to "B" BUsiness District was opened by the Supervisor
at 7:00 o'clock P.M.
The minutes of this hearing were recorded by George T. Lederle.
Moved by Councilman Demarest; seconded by Councilman Albertson:
WHEREAS, a petition was heretofore filed with the Town Board
of the Town of Southold by Henry G. Wenzel, Jr. requesting a
change, modification and amendment of the Building Zone Ordinance
including the Building Zone Maps made a part thereof by changing
from "A" Residential and Agricultural District.to "B" Business
District the property described in said petition, and
WHEREAS, said ~etition was duly referred to the Planning Board
for its investigation, recommendation and report, and its report
having been filed with the Town Board, and thereafter, apublic
hearing in relation to said petition having been duly held by
the Town Board on the 24th day of November, 1959, and due delib-
eration having been had thereon
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the relief demanded in said
petition be, and it hereby is granted on Parcel No. 1 on the
south side of County Highway 27A.

WHEREES, a petition was heretofore filed with the Town Board of
the Town of Southold by ARLIN DeGUIMARAES, requesting a change,
modification and amendment of the Building Zone Ordinance includ-
ing the Building Zone Maps made a part thereof by changing from
"A" Residential and AgX~itural District to "B" Business District
the property described in said petition, and
WHEREAS, SAID PETITION WAS DULY REFERRED TO THE Planning Board
for its investigation, recommendation and report, and its report
having been filed ewith the Town Board, and thereafter, a public
hearing in relation to said petition having been duly held by
the Town Board on the 24th day of November, 1959, and due delib-
eration having been had thereon
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the relief demanded in said
petition be, and it hereby is granted.
