HomeMy WebLinkAboutTB-10/06/1959MEETING OF TOWN BOARD OCTOBER 6, 1959 The Southold Town Board met at the office of Supervisor Norman E. Klipp at Greenport, on Tuesday, October 6, 1959. The meet- ing was called to order at 1:30 P.M. with the following present: Supervisor Klipp; Councilmen Albertson and Demarest; Justices Tuthill and Clark; Supt. of Highways Price and Town Clerk Booth. The Board sat at once as a committee on Audit to examine claims against the Town concluding the audit work at 2:00 o'clock P.M. Moved by Justice Clark~ seconded by 'Justice Tuthill: RESOLVED: That the reading of the minutes of the meeting of September 29, 1959 and October 2, 1959, be and hereby are duly approved as read. Vote of Town Board: Ayes-Supervisor Klipp; Councilmen Albertson and Demarest; Justices Tuthill and Clark. Moved by Councilman Albertson; seconded by Councilman Demarest: RESOLVED: That the regular monthly meeting of the Town Board will be held at the office of Supervisor Norman E. Klipp at Greenport, on Tuesday, October 20, 1959, at 1:30 P.M. Vote of Town Board: Ayes-Supervisor Klipp; Councilmen Albertson and Demarest; Justices Tuthill and~ Clark. Moved by Councilman Albertson; seconded by Justice Tuthill: RESOLVED: That the monthly report of Ralph P. Cox, Dog Warden, for the month of September, be accepted by the Town Board and placed on file. Vote of Town Board: Ayes-Supervisor Klipp; Councilmen Albertson and Demarest; Justices Tuthill and Clark. Moved by Justice Clark; seconded by Councilman Albertson: RESOLVED: That the report of the Auxiliary Police for the month of September, be a~depted by the Town Board and placed on file. Vote of Town Board: Ayes-Supervisor Klipp; Councilmen Albertson and Demarest; Justices Tuthill and Clark. Moved by Justice Clark; seconded by Justice Tuthili: RESOLVED: That twelve (12) copies of the Building Zone Ordinance Town of Southold, be assigned to the Building Inspector for Town use. Vote of Town Board: Ayes-Supervisor Klipp; Councilmen Albertson and Demarest; Justices Tuthill and Clark. Moved by Councilman Albertson; seconded by Justice Clark: RESOLVED: That the Police Report for the month of September be accepted by the Town Board and placed on file. Vote of Town Board: Ayes-Supervisor Klipp; Councilmen Albertson and Demarest; Justicess~uthill and Clark. Moved by Justice Tuthi!t; seconded by Councilman Demarest: RESOLVED: That General Bills in the amount of $6,913.87; Lightin~ District b~lls in the amount of $2,383.79; Fishers Island Ferry District Bills in the amount of $10,073.44 be and hame are hereby ordered paid. Moved by Justice Clark; seconded by Councilman A!bertson: RESOLUTION OF TOWN BOARD APPROVING PRELIMINARY BUDGET AND CALLING PUBLIC HEARING THEREON RESOLVED: That this Town Board does hereby prepare and approve as the preliminary budget of this Town for ~the fiscal year be- ginning the 1st day of Janyary, 1960, the itemized statement of estimated revenues and expenditures hereto attached and made a part of this resolution, and be it FURTHER RESOLVED: That such preliminary budget shall be filed in the office of the Town Clerk where it shall be available for inspection by any interested person at all reasonable hours, and be it FURTHER RESOLVED: That this Board shall meet at 2 o'clock p.m. on the 5th day of November, 1959, for the purpose of holding a public hearing upon suc~ preliminary budget, and be it FURTHER RESOLVED: That the Town Clerk give notice of such public hearing in the manner provided in Section 113 of the Town Law, and that. such notice be published in sugstantially the following form:- NOTICE OF HEARING UPON PRELIMINARY BUDGET Notice is hereby given that the preliminary budget of the Town of $outhold for the fiscal year beginning January 1st, 1960, has been completed and filed in the office.of the Town Clerk at Southold, New York, where it is available for inspection by any interested person attallL.reasonable hours. Further notice is hereby given that the Town Bcard of the Town of Southold will meet and review said preliminary budget and hold a public hearing thereon, at the Office of the Supervisor Greenport, New York, at 2 o'clock p.m. on the 5th day of Nov- ember 1959, and that at such hearing any person may be heard in favor of or against the preliminary budget as compiled or for or against any ~tem or items therein contained.
