HomeMy WebLinkAboutTB-06/16/1959MEETING OF JUNE 16, 1959. The Southold Town Board met at the office of Supervisor Norman. E. Klipp at Greenport, on Tuesday, June 16, 1959. The meeting~ was called to order at 1.:30 P.M. with the following present:~ Supervisor Klipp; Councilmen Albertson and Demarest; Justices Tuthill and Clark; Supt. of Highways Price; Town Attorney Ta~sk~r and Town Clerk Booth. The Board sat at once as a committee on Audit to e~mine Claims against the Town, concluding the audit work at 2 o'clock P.M. Moved by Justice Clark; seconded by Councilman Albertson: RESOLVED: That the minutes of the meeting of May 26, be and here- by are duly approved as read. Vote of Town Board: Ayes-Supervisor Klipp; Councilmen Albertson and Demarest; Justices ~athill and Clark. Mmved by Councilman Albertson; seconded by Justice Clark: W~EREAS, JOHN J. KLEIN, SR. has applied to the Town Board for a single ~automobile trailer permit, NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED: That the application of John J. Klein, Sr. to locate a single automobile trailer on his property at PrivateRoad E/S Main Road and North of Bay Avenue at Mattit- uck, is hereby granted as proposed in this application for a period of two years from the 16th day of June, 1959, which.term will end on the 15th day of June, t961.Th~Sspermit is issued upon the consideration that no other buildings be constructed upon the premises, except for a small accessary building ~or storage of lawn mowers, garden to~ls etc. Vote of Town Board: Ayes-Supervisor Klipp; Councilmen Albertson and Demarest; Justices Tuthill and Clark. Moved by Justice Clark; seconded by Councilman Albert.son: WHEREAS, ROBERT A. BUBB,has applied to the Town Board for a single automobile trailer permit, NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED: That the application of ROBERT A. BUBB to lecate a single automobile trailer on the property. of Josephine Rutkoski on the North side of Main Road (West) Greenport ishereby granted for a period of two years from the~ 16th day of June 1959, which term will end on the 15th day June, 1961, while Mr. Bubb's house is under construction. Moved by Justice Clark; seconded by Councilman Demarest: ~ RESOLVED: That the regular monthly audit meeting of ~his. Board will be he~d at the office of Supervisor Norman E. Klipp~at - Greenport, on Tuesday, July 7, 1959, at 1:30 P.M. Vote of Town Board: Ayes-Supervis=Klipp; Councilmen Albertson and Demarest; Justices Tuthill and Clark. Moved by Supt. of Highways Price; seconded by Councilman Albertson: RESOLVED: That inasmuch as the required dedication.and release have been duly received, map of same duly filed, and the necessary papers signed, the Town Board. ta~e over and maintain as a public highway "NORTH CROSS ROAD", situate at Fleets Neck, Cutchogue, Town of Southold, N.Y. LORTI relative to change of zone, NOW,~EREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED: That the Town Clerk of the Town of Southold be and he hereby is directed to transmit this applic- ation tO-the Planning Board in accordance with Section 901, Sub- division~C of Article lX of the Building Zone Ordinance of the Town of outhold. Moved by Councilman Demarest; seconded by Justice Tuthill: RESOLVED: That the report of Howard M. Terry, Building Inspector, for the month of May be accepted by the Town Board and placed on file. Vote of T~wn Board: Ayes-Supervisor Klipp; Councilmen Albertson and Demarest; Justices Tuthitl and Clark. Moved by Justice Tuthill; seconded by Justice Clark: WHEREAS, HAROLD R. REEVE, SR. has filed with the South~dd Town Board.his resignation as a member of the Southold Town Planning Board, effective as of June 1, 1959, and WHEREAS, HAROLD R. REEVE, SR. has served in this capacity for a number of years, rendering a valuable civic service to the inahbitants of Southold Town, now therefore be it RESOLVED: that the Southold Town Board accepts with ~egret this resignation, and expresses its deep gratitude to HAROLD R. REEVE, SR. for a service well done, and be it further RESODVED, that a copy of this resolution be sent to HAROLD R. REEVE, SR. Vote of Town Board: Ayes-Supervisor Klipp; Councilmen Albertson and Demarest; Justices Tuthill and Clark. Mobed by Justice Clark; seconded by Justice Tuthill: WHEREAS, the Southold Town Planning Board has prepared an official report and recommendation upon the petition of ROBERT H. PRESTON and LaGRANT CHAPMAN for change of zone from "A" Residential and Agriculural District to "B" Business District on certain real property neat the Village of Greenport, NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED: That a public hearing will be held by the Southold Town Board at the Supervisor's Office in Greenport, on Tuesday, July 7, 1959, at 2:00 o'clock P.M. on the above mentioned petition. Vote of Town Board: Ayes-Supervisor Klipp; Councilmen Albertson and Demarest; Justices Tuthill and Clark. Moved by Justice Tuthill; seconded by Councilman Albertson; RESOLVED: That General Bills in the amount of $25,938.77; Light- lng District Bills in the amount of %1,896.37; Fishers Island Ferry District Bills in the amount of $8,742.96, be and the same, are hereby ordered paid. Vote of Town Board: Ayes-SupervisorKlipp; Councilmen Albertson and Demarest; Justices Tuthill and Clark. Moved by Councilman Albertson; seconded by Councilman Demarest: RESOLVED: That the Police REport for the month of May, be accepted by the Town Board and placed on file. Vote of Town Board: Ayes-Supervieor Klipp; Councilmen Albertson and Demarest; Justices Tuthill and Clark. Moved by Justice Clark; seconded by Councilman Demarest: RESOLVED: That the pay rate established for life guard, Town of Southold, be fixed at $1.75 per hour, and the pay rate of the assistant life guard be fixed at $1.50 per hour. Vote of Town Board: Ayes-Supervisor Klipp; Councilmen Albertson and Demarest; Justices Tuthill and Clark. Mobed by Councilman Albertson; seconded by Councilman Demarest: RESOLVED: That the report of Ralph P. Cox, Dog Warden, for the month of M~y, be accepted by the Town Board and placed on file.
