The Southold Town Board met at the office of Supervisor Norman E.
Klipp at Greenport~ on Tuesday, January 6, 1959. The meeting was
called to order at 1:30 P.M. with the following present: Supervis0r~
Klipp; Councilmen Albertson and Demmrest; Justices Tuthill and Clark;
Superintendent of Highways Price; Town Attorney Tasker and Town
Clerk Booth.
The Board sat at once asa committee on Audit to examine cla4ms
against theTown concluding the audit work at 2:00 P.M.
Moved by Justice Clark; seconded by Councilman Demarest:
RESOLVED: That the minutes of the meeting of December 30, 1958 be
and hereby are duly approved as read.
Vote of Town Board: Ayes-Supervisor Klipp; Councilmen Albertson and
Demarest; Justices Tuthill and Clark.
Moved by Councilman Albertson; seconded by Justice Tuthill:
RESOLVED: That the regular monthly meeting of this Board will be
held at the office of Supervisor Norman E. Klipp at Greenport, on
Tuesday, January 20, 1959, at 1:30 P.M.
Vote of Town Board: Ayes-Supervisor Klipp; Councilmen ~lbertson and
Demarest; Justices Tuthill and Clark.
Moved by Councilman Albertson; seconded by Councilman Demarest:
RESOLVED: That Supervisor Norman E. Klipp be and he hereby is author-
ized to place an advertisement in the brochure published by the
Greenport-Southold Chamber of Commerce, the amount of said advert-
isement not to exceed the sum of $300.00

Demarest; Justices Tuthill and Clark.
Moved by Councilman Albertson; seconded by Councilman Demarest:
RESOLVED: That Supervisor Norman E. Klipp be and he hereby is
authorized to advertise for bids to p~rchase one automobile for
the use of the Board of Assessors.

Demarest; Justices Tuthill and Clark.

RESOLVED: That Southold Town Officials who desire to attend the
Annual meeting of the Association of Towns of the State of New
York, Bo be held in New York, N.Y.on February 9, 10, 11, 1959, be
aud they are hereby authorized to attend, and be it further
RESOLVED: That the necessary expenses incurred while attending said
meeting are a legal charge against the Town.
Vote of Town Board: Ayes-Supervisor Klipp; Councilmen Albertson and
Demarest; Justices Tuthill and Clark.

RESOLVED: That Supervisor Norman E. Klipp be designated to repreemnt-
m~ the Town of Southold at the annual meeting of the Association of
Town of the State of New York, to be held at New York, N.Y. on Feb.
9, 10 and 11, 1959, and to cast the vote of the aforesaid Town
pursuant to Section 6 of Article 111 of the Constitution and By-Laws
of said Association, and that Justice Ralph W. Tuthill be designated
as Alternate to cast the vote of said Town in the absence of Supervisor
Klipp.

Demarest; Justices Tuthill and Clark.

RESOLVED: That Howard M. Terry, BuildingInspector for the Townof
of Southold, be and he hereby is authorized to attend a school
for B~ilding Inspectors conducted by the Eastern StatesBuilding
Officials Federation, to be held in New York, N.Y. Feb. 18, 19, and
20~ 'I959, and be it further
RESOL'~ED: That the necessary expenses incurred while attending
said meeting is a legal charge against the Town.

RESOLVED: That General Bills in the amount of $6,934.71; Light-
ing District Bills in the amount of $1,685.25; Fishers Island
Fer~y District Bills in the amount of $7,,998.05, beand the
same are hereby ordered paid.

WHEREAS, the Coff~aissioners of the Fishers Island Ferry District
are desirous of entering into a contract between the Fishers
Island Ferry District and Alfred S. Bicknell for the operation
of the Fishers Island Ferry in the amount of $6,100.00 per
month, payable on or about the 15th day Of the following month,
for a period from January 1, 1959 to December 31, 196~, both dates
inclusive, now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED: That the Town Board of the Town of Southolddoes hereby
approve of the above mentioned contract.

WHERMAS, Florence Buckingham has applied to the Town Board for a
single automobile trailer permit,
NOW', THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED: That the application of Florence
Buckingham to locate a single automobile trailer on her property
at Westphalia Road, M~ttituck, N.Y. be and hereby is granted upon
the following terms and conditions:
(A) That all front, side and rear yard requirements of the Southold
Town Building Zone Ordinance shall-be complied with.
(B) That no other residential building or dwelling be placed
upon the premises.

and Demarest; Justices Tuthill and Clark.

RESOLVED: That the Police Report for the month of December be
accepted by the Town Board and placed on file.

Company in the sum of One Thousand Dollars ($1,000) on behalf of
Louis M. Demarest be and the same is hereby approved as to its
form, sum, manner of execution and sufficiency of surety therein.

Motorists Insurance Company in the sum of Five Hundred Dollars
($500.00), on behalf of Henry Brewster Faucon, be and the sade
is hereby approved as to its form, Sum, manner of execution-and
sufficiency of surety therein.

RESOLVED: That on the reco~aendation of the Superintendent of
Highways the salaried of the employees of the Southold Town
Highway Department be increased as per the following schedule
effective as of January 5, 1959.
