The Southold Town Board met at the office of Supervisor Norman E.
Elipp at Greenport, on Tuesday, November 25, 1958, The meeting was
catledto order at 1:30 P.M. with the following present: Super-
visor ~orman E. Klipp; Councilmen Albertson and Demarest; Justices

At 2:00 o~clock P.M. in accordance to law, bids were opened for
~roposals to furnish to the Town of Southold sixty-five 7.50 x ;4
-ply, nylon, tubeless automobile tires and six 7.50 x l~., 4-ply
nylon, tubeless automobile snow tires to be used on police cars.
The following bids were submitted:
Southold Coop. GLF Service Inc.-21.25 per tire, trade-in allowance
$2.00 per tire, total $19.25 per tire.

WHEREAS, the Police Committee reported that the lowest bid on the
tires for use on police patrol automobiles was submitted by Southold
CooP. GLF Service Inc.,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED: That Norman E. Klipp; Supervisor,
be and he hereby is directed to enter into a contract with Southold
Coop. GLF Service Inc. for the purchase of sixty-five 7.40 x 14,
4-ply nylon tubeless automobile~ tires and six 7.50 x 14, 4-ply
nylon snow tires at a total price of $19.25 per tire, or such number
t~ereof'as may be required vor police cars for the period from
December l, 1958 to November 30, 19~9.

WHEREAS, such service would be of great benefit, not only'to the

The public hearing relative to change of zone on two parcels of
land in Mattituck and amendments to the Building Zone Ordinance
was opened by the Supervisor at 7 p.m..The minutes of this hearing
were recorded by George Lederle.

WHEREAS, the Town Board of the Town of Southold referred to the
Southold Town Planning Board for its official report, a proposal
to amend, on ~its own motion, the Southold Town Building 0rdinance,
including the Building~Zone Maps, by changing ~rom "A" Residential
and Agricultural District to "B" Business District the property
hereinafter described, and
WHEREAS, the recommendation and official report of said Plar~uing
Board concerning said proposed amendment has been filed with the
Town Board, and
WHEREAS, a public hearing kas held by the Southold Town Board on
said proposal a~ the Supervisor's Office, 16 South Street, Greenport,
New York, on the 25th day of November, 1958, at 7:00 o'clock P.M.,and
WHEREAB, this board deems it in the public interest that said

(a) It shall be unlawful to use or permit the use of any build-
ing or premises or part.thereof, h~reafter created, erected, changed,
converted or enlarged~wholly or partly, in its use or structure until
a Certificate of Occupancy shall have been issued by the Building
Inspector. Such Certificate shall indicate that such building or
premises or part thereof and the proposed use thereof are in conform-
ity with the provisions of ~his~0rdinanceo
(b) Under such rules and regula$ions as may be established by
the Board of Appeals, a tempory Certificate of Occupancy for a part
of any building or premisesmay be issued by ~the Building Inspector°

WHEREAS, a public haaring upon said applicabion was held by this
Board after due notice thereof on November 10th, 1958, and
WHEREAS, this Board deems it in the public interest that said fran~
chise be granted,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED: That the Supervisor be and he hereby
is authorized to execute a franchise agreement on behalf of theTown
of Southold substantially in the same fo~ as the proposed agreement
~ ~ ~i~ with the Town for a period of ten years at a fee of $~0.00.

southerly side of Kenny's Road at Southold in the Town of South-
old for' the purpose of providing drainage facilities to Drevent
the flooding of.Town Highways,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED: That the Superintendent of High-
ways be and he is hereb~ authorized to purchase on behalf of the
Town of Southold for the sum of Seven Hundred Fifty (9750.00)
Dollars the' following described property: ·
ALL that certain piece or parcel of land known and designated
as and bY Lot no. 14 on a certain Map entitled ~Map of Subdivision

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that after a public hearing held pursuant
to'the requirements of law, the Building Zone Ordinance of the
To~n Of Southold, Suffolk Co~ty, ~ew York, was duly amended at
a regular meeting of the Southold Town Board held on November 25,
1958, as follows:
1.By amending Article 1, Section 100 by adding thereto a new
paragraph to be paragraph 9A to read as follows:
9A-FAMILY-~ne or more persons occupying premises as a
single housekeeping unit.
2. By amending Article Vll by adding thereto a new section ~o be
Section 703B to read as follows:
SECTION 703B- CERTIFICATE OF OCCUPANCY
(a) It shall be unlawful to use or peEnit the use of any building
or premises o~ part thereof, hereafter created, erected, changed,
converted or enlarged wholly or partly in its use or structure
