The Southold Town Board met at the office of Supervisor Norman E.
Klipp at Greenport, on M?nd~y, November lC, 1958, and the m?eting
was called to~ order at 7.00 P.M. with the following present. ·
Supervisor Klipp;.~ouncilmen Albertson and Demarest; Justices
Tuthill and Clark, Town Attorney Tasker and Town Clerk Booth.

RESOLVED: That the regular monthly meeting of the Town Board will

RESOLVED: That the Town Boerd on its own mOtion amend the Southol~
Town Building Zone Ordinance including the Building Zone Maps by
changing from "A" Residential and Agri?. Dist. to "B" Business
Dist. the following described property.
~LL that certain piece of parcel of land situate at Mattituck, in
the Town of Southold, County of Suffolk, and State of New York,
more particularly bounded and described as follows;
BEGINNING at a point on the southerly line of Sound .Avenue at
the northwesterly corner of land of Sepko and the northeasterly
corner of Papis.h, said point of beginning being about 180 feet
~este~ly along said southerly line of Sound Avenue from the point
where said southerly line would be intersected by the direct ex-
tension southerly of the westerly line of Cox Neck Road; from
said point of beginning running southerly ~long said land of Sepko
1000 feet, more or less, to the northerly line of the Long Island
Lighting Co. easement;.thence westerly along said northerly line,
2~2 feet~ more or less, thence northerly ~long land of Sacks, 1092
feet, more or less, to said southerly line of Sound Avenue; thence
easterly along said southerly line of SoUnd Avenue~ 300 fe~t, to
the point of beginning.
BEIT F~THER RESOLVED: That this proposed amendment be referred
~o the $outhold Town Planning Bosrd f or its recommendation and
official report.

WHEREAS, by the preceding resolution the Town Board proposed to amend
the Southold'Town Building Zone Ordinance on its own metion~ and
WHEREAS, this Beard new deems it advisable that the question 'or-'re'zoning
said property should be initiated by the application of the owners of
said property rather than by this Board on its own motion,
~0E, THEREFORE~ BE IT RESOLVED: that the preceding resolution be and
it hereby is in all respects recinded.

DeFRFEST requesting an amenSment of the Southold Town Building Zone
Ordinance, including the ~uilding Zone Maps., by changing from "A"'
Agricultural ~nd Residential.District to "B" Business District certain
re~l property on t~e north s~de of Route 25 at Mattituck, New,York,
said property being more fully described in said application, and
WHEREAS, the property ~long the southerly side of Toute 2~ opposite
the pro~erty~described in said application as well as the property
on the ~o~th~side et Route 2~ west of Wickham Avenue, is presently
zoned "B" Business, and the business ~nw~ in this area warrants the
creation~of additional business zones, and
WHEREAS~ it is the~iopinion of this Board that the property described
in said application as well as other property on the northerly side
of Route 25~ westerly to Wickham Avenue, should be rezoned from "A"
Residential end,Agricultural D~strict ~o "B" Business District,
NOW~ T~EREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED. that the Town Board of. the Town,of
Southold refer to the Southold Town Planning Board for its official
report, the proposal to amend, on its own motion, the Southold Town
Building Zone 0rdiRance, including the Building Zone Maps, by~changin§
from "A" Residential and AGric. District to "B" Business Distriet~ the
following described property:
ALL that certain tract of land sitmate at Mattituck, in the Town'of
Southold, County.e2 Suffolk, and State~ef New York, more particularly
bOunded and described ~as follows:
BEGINNING at the intersection of the northerly line of the Nain Road
with t. he easterly ~ine of Wickham Avenue; from said point of ~eginning
running northerly a~long~said easterly line of Wickham Avenue,~19% feet,
more or less, thence easterly along land now or formerly of Duryee
and along land now or formerl~ of Conklin Estate,. 250+ feet, marcor less$.

BE IT SURTHER RESOLVED: that the Town Clerk be and he hereby is
authorized ~nd directed to request in writing that the Southold Town
Planning Board prepare an official report purmuant to Section 901 of
said Ordinance concerning said proposed amendment.

ferredto the Southold Town Planning Beard for its recommendation, and
report a proposal to amend the Southotd Town Building gone, 0rdinanc~
including the Building Zone Maps by changing from "A" Residential and
Agricultural District to "B" Business District certain proper~y on the
north side. of Route 25 at Eattituck, New York, which property is more
particularly described in said resolution~ and
WHEREAS, the recommendation and official report of said Planning Board
concerning said proposed amendment has been filed with the Town Beard,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED: that a public hearing be held by the
Southold Town Board on sA~d proposal at the Supervisor's 0ffice,'16'

~aragraph tO' be paragraph 9A; by amending ~rticle Vll, by adding
hereto a new Section to be Section 70BB, and by amending Article X

WHEREAS~ an application has been made to the Town Board of the Town
of Southold on behalf of Sunrise Coach Lines, Inc., for a bus fran-
chise withinthe Town of °outhold, and
~IEREAS,~a public heating upon said application was held by this
Board afteF due notice thereof on November,lOth~~ 1958, and
WHEREAS, this Board deems it in the public interest that said
franchise be granted,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED: that the Supervisorbe and he hereby
i~ ~uthorized to execute a franchise agreement o~ behalf Of the Town
of~Oouth°ldI substantially in the same form as thee PropOsed agreement
now'on file' with the Town. for a period of t~n Years at~a fee of $~0.00.

'Zone Maps made a part thereof by changing from "A" Res. & Agric. Dist.
to "C" Industrial District the property described in said petition, and

its investigation, recommendation and report, and its report having
been filed with the Town Board, and thereafter, a public hearing in
