The Southold Town Board met at the office of Supervisor Norman Eo
Klipp at Greenport~ on Tuesday, October 28, 1958o The~ meeting was
called to order at 1:30 P.M. with the following present: Supervisor
Klipp; Councilmen Albertson and Demarest; Justices Tuthill'andClark;
Superinte,ndent of Highways Price and Town Clerk Booth.

RESOLVED: That the minutes of October 14 be and hereby are duly
approved as read.
Vote of Town Beard: Ayes=Supervisor Klipp; Councilmen Albertson and
Demarest; Justices ~uthi11 and Clark.

RESOLVED: That the regular monthly audit meeting of this BOard will
be hel~ at the office of Supervisor Norman E. Klipp at Greenport~

)~. Archibald N. Young came before the Town Board to present
old Town with two historic plaques, both mounted on black walnut
backgrounds and brunze plates-engraved with historic data, This data
was furnished by Town Historian Wayland Jefferson. One plaque was
taken from the Mill Creek bridge 'and will be given in memory of
Highway Commissioner 0smon W. YounK~ Deceased. The other plaque was
taken from the ~attituck Creek bridge and will be given in memory
of Town Superintendent of Highways George H. Fleet~ Deceased,
Moved by Councilman Albertson; seconded by Justice Tuthill:
RESOLVED: That the Town Board does hereby accept these two P~aqu~s
and a vote of thanks be extended to Mr. Young and that they be placed
on the walls of the Southold Town Clerk Office Building as part of
Southold Town's Historic property.

~q{EREAS~ an application has been made to the Board of the Town of
Southoldon behalf of Sunrise Coach Lines, Inc. for a bus franchise
within the Town~ it is
RESOLVED: That a public hearing upon said application and to consider
the te~ms upon which such franchise should be granted be held by
the Town Board at Village Hall~ Greenport~ N.Y. on Monday, November
10~ 1958, at 7:00 P.M. and that motice of such public hearing be
given in accordance with the provisions of law pertaining thereto.

WHEREAS, it has been requested by the Commissioners of the Fishers
Island Ferry District that a bare boat charter between the Interstate
Navigation Company and Fishers Island Ferry District be approved~ and
%%~EREAS, the charter provides for the hire of the )~ Quonset at
at rate of $500.00 for the first two days of the charter, and at
a rate of $200.00 per day for any additional da~s thereafter~ now
therefore~ be it
RESOLVED: That Norman Eo Klipp, Supervisor~ be and he hereby is
directed to approve the a~ove-m&ntioned charter.

~q~EREAS, WINIFRED B. CLARK of Fishers Island has withdrawn her
application ~46 for a changeof zone and
WHEREAS~ WILLIAM H. SORENSON of Orient has withdrawn ~s application
#48 for a change of zone~ and
WHEREAS~ both parties have requested that the fee of $25.00 submitted
with the application be returned~ now~ therefore~ be it
RESOLVED: That Supervisor Norman E. Klipp be~ and he hereby is direct-
ed to return the fee of $~5.00 to Winifred B. Clark and th~ fee of
$25.00 to William H. Sorenson.

RES0LVED:_That proposed amendment to Building. Zone Ordinance to
be 'Section 1000A be transmitted to the Planning Board.

~q{EREAS, a p~tition was heretofore filed with the Town Board of
the Town of Southold by CHARLES 0. ZIEGLER, requesting a change,
modification and amendment of the Building Zone Ordinance including
the Building Zone Maps made a part thereof by changing from "A"
Residential and Agriculturla District to "M'~ Multiple Resident
District the property described in said petition, and

h~EREAS, said petition was duly re~erred to the Planning Board for
its investigation, recommendation and report, and its report having
been filed with the Town Board, and thereafrer~ a publi~ hearing /--~'
in relation to said petition having been duly held by the Town Board~.~
on the l~th day of 0ctober~ 1958~ and due deIiberation having been/~
had thereon
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the relief demanded in said
petition be~ and it hereby is granted.

~qiEREA$, the County of Suffolk proposes to dredge certain areas
of Sterling Creek in the Town of Southold, which dredging will
be performed by County owned dredging equipment at a nominal cost
to the Town of ~outhold, and
~HEREAS~ in order to accomplish said dredging, plans, specifications,
agreements and other documents must be executed on behalf of the
Town of Southold,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED: That the Supervisor be and he
hereby is authorized to execute, on behalf of the Town of $outhold,
all necessary plans and specifications, spoil area agreements~
assurances to the County of Suffolk~ license and/or dredging permit
applications to Federal and State Agencies and all other documents
that may be required to accomplish said dredging work.

AMENDMENT NO. 22
NOTICE OF AFAENDMENT OF ZONING ORDINANCE A~NDMENT NO. 22
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that after a public hearing held pursuant
to the requirements of &aw, the Building Zone Ordinance (including
the Building Zone Maps) of the Town of Southold, Suffolk County,
New York was duly amended at a regular meeting of the Southold Town
Board on October 28, 1958~ as follows:-
1. By changing from "A" Residential and Agricultural District to
~M" Multiple Residence District ~he following described property:-
ALL that certain piece or parcel of land, situate at East Marion,
in the Town of Southold~ County of Suffolk and State of New York,
bounded and described as follows:
Beginning at a point on the westerly line of Bay Avenue~ 50 feet
southerIy along said line from the southeasterly corner of land
of Leonard G. Krancher, and running thence alon~ the westerly line
of Bay Avenue, south 34 degrees lZ minutes ~0 seconds east 295 feet
to the shore of Marion Lake; thence, inca generalwesterly direction
along the shore of Marion Lake 360 feet more or less to land of
Walter ~. Washburn; thence along last mentioned land two courses
as follows=
(1) North 10 de&tees 47 minutes 20 seconds east ?0 feet~ mo=e or
less~ to a point 50 feet southerly from the southerly line of said~
1and'of Krancher~ measured at right angles thereto; thence
(2) on a Iine parallel to and 50 feet southerly from the aaid
southerly line of land of' Krancher~ measured at right angles
thereto~ north 55 degrees 47 minutes 20 seconds east 200 feet
to the point of beginning.
