Hi John,
The Historic Preservation Commission has determined that the work proposed as depicted in
your photographs is not a significant change, and not under their jurisdiction. The simple repair
work will not require an application to the HPC. However, if you begin this project and find
more work is needed, please advise the HPC.

Hi John,
The Commission reviewed your request yesterday, and agree that improvements be considered
de minimus, but have some recommendations. I will have the approval in writing to you next
week.

Subject: [SPAM] - Repair work
Hi Kim,
Hope you had a nice Labor Day.
We exchanged emails/phone calls back in December. I moved into 28775 Main Road in Orient back in November
2022. We thought about putting in a fence, but have since put that idea on hold.
I had two questions for you;
First, I'm writing to ask if we need the Historical commission's permission for a basic repair for the facade of the
house. I've attached some pictures below of the stool of the window frame (bottom right of the three piece
window). As you can see, it is badly rotted (it looks like fungus of some sort). Thankfully the wood around it is in good
condition and intact. We were hoping to replace it exactly(same wood, same coat of paint). As it's a pretty basic repair,
I didn't think it would need to be reviewed by the commission, but writing to you just in case.
Second, when is the next public session for the historical commission? I would like to attend, if possible,to get an
understanding of how the approval process works. I read the manual (helpful), and it suggested to attend public
commission sessions for general Q&A.
Many thanks,
John Shea
