HomeMy WebLinkAbout10/06/2025 Economic Development Committee October 6, 2025 Meeting Minutes Date: October 6, 2025 Time: 4:02 PM —5:05 PM Location: Town Annex Building, Bank Room Attendance: Jack (Chair), Jennifer, Lucine, Brian, Brent,Amanda, Greg (Town Board Liaison), Elizabeth (Secretary), Heather Huerta (Guest—Youth Bureau Director),Alex Seuss (Guest-Town Board Candidate via Zoom), Richard Vandenburgh (Potential New Member) 1. Meeting Frequency Jennifer suggested that the Committee meet twice a month for a half hour—one meeting in person and one via Zoom—instead of once a month for an hour. The Committee agreed to try this schedule for two months to assess how well it works for everyone. Due to all the holidays and events in November and December we will begin the process in January. 2. Updates and Reports Meeting with Mayor Stuessi still not scheduled. Greg and Rich will remind him. Transportation Commission (September 15, 2025): The Commission supported the road closure for Winterfest. Housing Authority: Lucine reported communication with Pat Lutsky(Housing Authority).The agency is currently undergoing reorganization, so a meeting was not possible at this time.A meeting may occur in November, and Lucine will update the Committee. North Fork Business Advisory Board (September 12, 2025): Jack attended the meeting and shared that the Board meets twice a year and hosts events for students, such as job fairs,job-sharing programs, and a Senior Mentor Breakfast.Appears to be more enthusiasm for Internship programs. Directory and Event Calendar: Brent will meet with Lisa Sannino; however, no progress has been made yet. Partnerships with Local Organizations: Committee members have reached out to various groups but have not yet received responses. Civics, Jack. Rotary, Brian. Lions, Jennifee. Chambers, Paul. Group will continue to follow up. 3. Town Beautification The Committee discussed the need to resolve the issue of the Christmas wreaths. Jennifer will meet with the Town Comptroller this week to discuss. 4. Synergy Summit The Committee needs to finalize key topics for the October 15, 2025 Synergy Summit. 5. Holiday Events Amanda created a Google Sheet to compile town-wide holiday events so members can view and coordinate activities. Highlights include: -CAST— Festival of Trees (date needed) -Greenport—Tree Lighting and Parade (date needed) -Crafts and Cookies with Santa: December 12, 2025, 4-6 PM at the Recreation Center (per Heather Huerta) -Holiday Stroll: December 12, 2025, 5-8 PM6. 6.
