HomeMy WebLinkAbout1000-70.-4-3 To: Glenn Goldsmith, President Town of Southold Board of Trustees From: Mark Terry, AICP LWRP Coordinator Date: May 12, 2025 Re: LWRP Coastal Consistency Review for SHARI HYMES & MARY SCHEERER SCTM# 1000-70-4-3 Jeffrey Patanjo on behalf of SHARI HYMES & MARY SCHEERER requests a Wetland Permit to remove existing timber bulkhead and construct 80 linear feet of new vinyl bulkhead in same location as existing; construct an 8'x16' poured concrete kayak ramp; removal of 10 cubic yards of fill to construct the kayak ramp to be removed off-site; remove three (3) trees which will be compromised as part of the bulkhead replacement work; remove and replace existing fixed dock and steps as required to replace bulkhead; and to establish and perpetually maintain a 15' wide non-turf buffer along the landward side of the new bulkhead. Located: 3765 Wells Avenue, Southold. SCTM# 1000-70-4-3 The proposed action has been reviewed to Chapter 268, Waterfront Consistency Review of the Town of Southold Town Code and the Local Waterfront Revitalization Program (LWRP) Policy Standards. Based upon the information provided on the LWRP Consistency Assessment Form submitted to this department, as well as the records available to me, it is my recommendation that the action is INCONSISTENT with LWRP Policy 6 and, therefore, INCONSISTENT with the LWRP. Removal of trees is not consistent with Policy 6. 1. Limbing up of trees is recommended instead of removal. Pursuant to Chapter 268, the Board of Trustees shall consider this recommendation in preparing its written determination regarding the consistency of the proposed action.
