The Board sat at once as committee on Audit to examine claims against the Town concluding the audit work at 2:00 o'clock P.M. Vote of Town Board: &yes-Supervisor Klipp$ Counilmen Albertson and Demarest; Justices Tuthill and Clark, The public hearing on the application of LeRoy and Lorraine Bro~ for permission to establish a Tourist Court (Camp Cottages) at East Marion was opened by Supervisor K!ipp ~t 2~30 P.M.. He read the call of the hear~ lng and then called upon any person present who wished to speak either in favor or ~gainst the application. There was no response against the applicstion~ Mrs. Brown spoke in favor of the application~ The hearing was duly closed at 2:45 P.M. The application was held for further detib~ e~aiion of the Boa.rd, Moved by Councilman Albertson; seconded by Justice Tuthil!: W~RE.AS~ Chapter 606 of the Laws of 1958 amended the Town Law to pro- vide that a violation of a Zoning Ordinance shall be an offense~ and ~REAE~ the Southold Town Building Zone Ordinance provides that a violation thereof shall be a ~isdemeanor~ and ~/HEREAS~ it is the desire of this Board to amend said Ordinance so that the provisions thereof conform to the Town Law~ NOW~ THEREFORE~ BE IT RESOLVED: that there be referred to the Planning Board of the Town of Southold for its recommendation and official report the following proposal to amend the Building Zone Ordinance of th~ Town of Southold~ Suffolk Coun~ys New York: Section 1, Article X~ Section lO12 of the Building Zone Ordinance of the Town of Southoldi Suffolk County~ New York is hereby amended to read as follows: SECTION lO12- PENALTiES¢ For any and every violation of the provisions of this ordinance~ the owner~ ~eneral agent~ or contractor of a building or premises~ Where such violations have been committed or shall exist~ and the general agent~ architect~ builder~ contractor or any other person who knowingly commits~ takes part or assists in any such violation or who maintains any building or premises in which any such violation shall exist~ shall be guilty of an offense. Each week's continued violation shall constitute a separate additional violation~ Such fines or penalties .sha~l be collected aa like fines are now collected by law. Vot~ of Towh Board: Ayes-Supervisor Klipp; Councilmen Albert~o~ a~d -- Demarest; Justices Tuthill and Clerk, Moved by Juwtice Clark; seconded by Justice Tuthill: RESOLVED: That this meeting be recessed at ll:O0 PoM~ and be reconvsned at the Supervisor~s Office on Friday~ June 13~ 19~8: at 1:30 P,M~ Moved by Councilman Demarest; seconded by Councilman Albertson: ¥~EAS~ Henry F~ Santscroce: a member of the Police Force of the Town of Oout~old~ was~involved in an accident with a school bus on Route 25 on the 9th day of June: 19~8~ causing damage to the police car which he was then operating~ and WHEREAS~. this was the second accident in which Henry F, Santacroce was involved during his employment as a policeman~ and ~EREAS~ the Town Board has examined into ~ ~n= happenings of the accident and has questioned Henry F. Santacroce concerning said accident to determine the cause thereof~ as will as to determine what action should be taken by the Town Board to prevent any future accidents of this nsture~ and ~,~REAo~'~ ~ it ~_~s the~opinion of the Board that some diciplinary action shOuld be taken in order to deter any future occurances of this nature~ NOW, THEREFORE~ BE IT RESOLVED: That the said Henry F, Santacroce be and he hereby is assigned to the ~ollowing duty for the next four weeks: One week on foot patrol; one week in a police car with another police officer operating 'the car; a further week's duty as a foot patrolman; and a further week's duty in a police car with another police officer operating the car~ after which he hhall be returned to his regular duties. The Chief of Police shall determine the areas to which Ha~y F. Santacroce sha~l be assigned ~s foot patrolman within the Town. BoOth Town Clerk .! iMEETING OF JUNE 17~ 19~8, A public hearing was held by the °outhold Towm Board at Village Hall in Greenport on Tuesday~ June 17~ 19~8~ with the following present: Councilmen Albertson and Demarest; Justices Tuthill and Clark; Attorney Tasker and Town Clerk Booth. This hearing was on the proposal to amend the Building .Zone Ordinance of the Town of Southold by changing from ~A" Residential and Agricultural District to ~B'~ Business District on a parcel of land situate in Southold and a parcel of land ~ ~ ' ~ by Chauging ~rom ~'A~' Residentail and Ag~ic. situate in ~u~CnOoUe~ _ _ District to "M" Multiple Residence District on a parcel of land situate at Fleets Neck~ Cutchogue~ and from "~ Residential and Agric. Dist. to "C'~ Industrial District on a parcel of land situate at Peconic. Councilman Albertson opened the hearing at 7:30 P,M.. Town Attorney Tasker read the call of the hearing. Councilman ilbertson called upon any person present who wished to speak either for or against the pro- posal to amend the building zone ordinance on the aforesaid parcels of land, The hearing was duly closed at 9:00 P.M. The minutes of this hearing were recorded by George T. Lederle. The Board adjourned to the Supervisor~s Office to hold a Town Board Meeting~ Moved by Justice Tuthili$ seconded by Councilman Demarest: WHEREAS~ the Town Board~ by resolution upon its own motion on May 28~ 19~8~ has proposed a change~ modification and amendment of the Build- ing Zone Ordinance including the Building Zone Maps made a par~ thereof by changing from "A:~ R~sidential and Agricultural District to "B" Business Distric2 th~ property described in said resolution~ and ~EREAS~ said resolution was duly re~erred to the Planning Boar~ for zt~ report having its investigstion~ recommendation and report~ and been filed with the Town Board~ and thereafter~ a public hearing in relation to said resolution having been duly held by the To-ma Board on the 17th day of June~ 19~8~ and due deliberation shying been had ~hereon~ NOW~ THEREFORE~ BE IT RESOLVED: that the change proposed in said res~ 01ution be and-it hereby is adopted.
