The Southold Town Board met at the office of Supervisor Norman E. Klipp
at Greenport, on Tuesday, March 25, 195~. The meeting was called to order
at 1:30 P.M. with the following present. Supervisor Klipp; Councilmen
Albertson and Demarest; Justices Tuthill and Clark; Supt. or'Highways
Price; Town Attorney Tasker and Town Clerk Booth.

RESOLVED: That the minutes of March ll~ be and hereby are duly approved
as read.

lights in the Southold Lighting District as follows:
Remove lights on poles Nos. 3 ~ and 6 on Oak Lawn AVenue and on ~61es
Nos. 75, 369, 371, 373, 378½,'379~ 385, 756 and 7~1 on th~
Install twelve (12) new mercury 600 cp lights on Poies~Nos. 3!~'~and 6

Planning Board of the Town of Southold until April 30, 1961, to fill
the unexpired term of T. Paul Montgomery.

sidewalk adjacent to the property of Henry Fisher and DaVid DeFriest
the prgper'ty owners to pay cost of Ready Mix Concrete.

one 1953 Plymouth Station Wagon to be taken in trade as part payment on
the new pickup.

WHEREAS~ the Town Superintendent of Highways did, on the llth day of
March. 19~8~ dul~ recommend the purchase of certain equipment pursuant
to the provisions of Section 152 of the Highway Law?
NOW~ THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that pursuant to S~ction 142 of the Highway
Law the Town Supierintendent of Highways is hereby~authorized to purchase
in accordance wi~h the provisions of Article 5-A of the General Municipal
Law, with the approval of the County Superintendent of Highways, the
following:
One Nelson Model Q-11 Heavy Duty Bucket Loader with Rotary Screen and
all standard equipment, plus scrub brushes on screen
for a~maximum price ef Twelve Thousand Eight Hundred Thirty Dollars
($~2,830~O0) delivered~ at Peconic~ N.Y. and to be delivered on or about
May lst~ 1958.
The Town Superintendent of Highways is hereby authorimed ~ subject to
the approval of the County Superintendent of Hi§hways, to surrender to
the vendor

as part payment for the above equipment to be pmrchased.

A contract of purchase for the i~em purchssed shall be duly executed
between the Town Superintendent of Highways and such~vendor, and when
duly approved by the County Superintendent of Highways, it shall become
effective. When such contract has been duly executed and approved~ the
SuperVisor is authorized to complete such purchase upon delivery of the
item purchase in accordance with the terms of such resolution and such
contract~ and to pay the a~ove amount specified to be paid by a check
drawn on t~e Machinery Fun8 for $10,000.00.

A RESOLUTION PROVIDING FOR THE ~ETAILS AND AUTHORIZING THE S&LE OF AN
$18~O00 STATUTORY ENSTALLMENT BO~D OF THE~ TOWN OF SOUTHOLD, ~SUF_FOLK
COUNTY~ NEW YORE, HERETOFORE AUTHORIEED FOR THE PURCHASE O~ Ai~ WA~LTER
SNOW FIGHTNR FOR SAID TOWN.
~HEREAS, the Town Board of the Town of Southold, Suffolk County~ New
York,~adopted a bond resolution on March ll, 1958 authorizing the issu-
of $18,000 serial bonds of sA~ Town for the purchase of ~hi~wayequipment
consisting Of a Walter Snow Fighter, for said Town~ and
~EREAS, it is now desired to provide for thh details and sale of said
bonds; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT
RESOLVED: by the To-~ ~Board of t~e Town of ~outhold, Suffolk County~
New'York, as follows:
SECTION 1. The $18,000 serial bonds described in the foregoing preambles
Shall be issued in the form of a statutory installment bond,~to be des-
igna~e~ substantially HIGHWAY EQUIPMENT (SERIAL) BOND, 19~8, shall be
dated ~arch 25, 1958, shall be in the denomination of $18,060, shall
provide fore,he payment of such principal sumof $18,O00 as follows:
$3,000 on March 25 in each of the years 1959 and 1960, and $$,000 on
March 25 in each of the years~1961 to 1963~ both inclusive~ and shall
bear interest at the rate of three per centum (3%) per annum, payable
semi-a~nually September 25 and March 25. Both principal of and interest
on such statutory installment Bond will be payable in lawSul money of
the United States of America, at the First National Bank of Greenport,
in Greenport, New York. Such Statutory installment bond shall be signed
in the name of said Town by its Supervisor, sealed with its~eorporate
seal, attested by its Town Clerk, and shall be in substantially~the
following form, to wit:
SECTION 2, All other matter~, except as provided herein, relating to such
statutory installment bond, shall be determined by the Supervsor~ and such
statutory installment bond shall be in terms, form~ and conten~s substant-
ially as provided in Section 62,10 of the Local Finance Law.
~ECTION 3. It is hereby determined that subdivision 28 of paragraph a
of Section lt.O0 of the Local~Finance Law applies to such objector pur-
pose, and that~the period of probable usefulness thereof is five years,
computed from March 2%, 1958, there bering been no bond anticig~tion notes
issued in anticipation of such bond.
SECTION $._ The faith and credit of the Town of Southold, New York, are
hereby irrevocably pledged to the payment of the principal of and inter-
est on such bond as the same respectively becomes due and payable. An
a~uual appropriation shall be made in each year sufficient to pay~he
principal of and interest on such bond becoming due and payable in such
year. There shall annually be levied on all the taxable real property~of
said Town of Southold~ New York, a tax sufficient to pay the principal
of and interest on such bond as ~he same become dae and apya~le,
SECTION ~. Pursuant to the provision of Paragraph b of Section 63.00
of the Local Finance Law, as last amended, said statutory installment
bond hereby sold a~ private sale to the First National Bank of Greenport,
in Greenport? New York, at par and accrued interest, if any, it being
hereby determined that the total am~ount of bonds sold by said Town at
private sale in accordance with the provisions of siad paragraph b of
Section 63.00 of the Local Fifnace Law for its current fiscal year is not
in excess of $~0.000. The receipt of the SuperVisor sahll be a full
acquittance to the purchase, of such statutory installment bond, who shall
not he obliged to see to the application of the purchase money.
SECTION 6. Th~s resolution shall take effect immediatelY. ·
