calledrto order at.l:30 P.M, with the following present: Supervisor

plows~ all of which are Walter Snow Fighters~ and
WHER~AS~ such machinery is the only positive drive truck which will
meet the needs of such Town in clearing highways of large snow drifts~
and
WHEREAS~ the mechanics employed by the Town are familiar with and
experienced in the repair and maintenance of such equipment and main~
rain spare parts for such equipment~ some of which are interchangeable
with all Walter snow fighter equipment owned by the Town~ and
~iEREAS~ the factory for the _wanufacture of such equipment is located
on Long Island and the mechanics and repair parts are readily avail-
able to said To~ in a matter of hours instead of days or weeks as is
the case with other manufacturers of simiiar-equipment~ and
~%IEREAS~ th~ purchase of Walter Snow Fighters will contribute to the
efficiency an~ economy of the Southo!d Town Highway Department~ ~nw~
therefore~ be it
RESOLTED that the Superintendent of Highways of the Town of Southold
be and he hereby is authorized to standardize on the purchase of snow
lowing equipment.Of over 30~000 gross ~ehicle weight and of over

the purchase of Walter Snow Fighter equipment,'

&t 2 o'clock P.M, the public hearing was opened on the proposal to
amend the Building Zone Ordinance of the Town of Southo!d by changing
from UA" Agricultural and R~sidential District to ~B" Business DistriCt
on a parcel of land at Arshamomaque, The Supervisor read the Call of
the hearing. He then recessed the hearing for 15 minutes. The heaving
was reconvened at 2:30 P,M. The Supervisor called uoon any person pres-
ent who wished to spend either for or against the proposal to amend the
Building Zone Ordinance of~ the aforesaid parcel or land. Ther~ was no
response in favor of or against the proposal,
Moved by Councilman Albertson; seconded by Justice Clark:
~EREAS~ a petition washheretofore filed with the Town Board of the
Town of Southold by Perry E, Bendicksen, requesting a change, Modif-
icationand amendment of the Building Zone Ordinance including the
Building Zone Maps made a part thereof, by changing from "A" Agricult-
ural a.nd Residential District the property in said petition, and
k~E~EAS~ said petition was duly referred to the Planning Board for
its inVestigatiOn, recommendation and report, and thereafter, a
public hearing in'relation to said petition having been duly held by
the Town B~ard on the 25th day of February, 1958, and due deliberation
having been had thereon, .
.NOW~ ~EREFORE~BE IT R~SOLVED. That the relief demanded in said
pet~tf°n a~d it hereby is denied.

the probationary appointment of Robert M. Hutse,
Harol~ William P. Boken~ Robert E. Walden and Barney
P. Ha~ ~ Patrolmaen (Constables) of the To~n of So~ho~d
be chan~ed to permanent appointments, and that the compensation of
said appointees be increased from $1~.00 to $15.00 p2r diem, with the
exception of Barney P. Harris, Payable in regular bi weekly payments
effective as of March 15, 1958.

Moved by Councilman Albertson; seconded by Councilman Demarest:
RESOLVED:: That the compensation of Henry F. Santacroce as police
Patrolman (Constable) of the Town of Southold be and hereby is
increased from $15.00 to $16.62 per diem~ payable in regular bi-weekly
payments effective as of March 15, 1958.

RESOLVED: That Supervisor Norman E. Klipppbe and he hereby is authorized
to enter into ~ lease with the Department of the Army for th~ use of
the airfield~ including th~ hangar building 2%~ and buildings T-365 and
127, located at Fort H. G. Wright~ Fishers Island~ New York, for a
ter~ of one year beginning Jan. ~ 1958 and ending Dec. 31~ 1958, in
the amount of Twelve Dollars ($12.00) per annum, payable i~ advance.

WHEREAS, a petition was received from Paradise Shores Association Inc.~
relative to an Open Devel~pement Area under_the provisions of Section
280-A of the Town Law of the S~ate of New Y~rk,
NOW, THEREFORE~ BE IT RESOLVED. That the Togn Clerk of the Town of
Southold be and he hereby is directed to transmit this application
to the Planning Board in accordance with Section 901~ Subdivision C
of Article 1X of the Building Zone Ordinance of the Town of Southold~
Suffolk County, New York.

WHEREAS, It is the desire of this Board upon its own motion to amend
the Building Zone Ordinance of the Town of Southold
NOW, THEREFORE~ BE IT~RESOLVED: That there be referred to the Planning
Board of the Town of Southold for its recommendation and official report
the proposal to amend the Building Zone Ordinance of the Town of Southold.
