WHm~REAS~ It is required by Section 27~ Subdivision i of the Town Law
that the'Town Board fix the salaries of all Town officers at an amount
not in excess of the amounts resoectfully specified in the notice of
hearing, on the preliminary budget, published pursuant to Section ll3 of
the Town Law~ now therefore,be it

RESOLVED, That Norman E. Klipp, Supervisor, be and he hereby is authorized
to act as Public Welfare Officer at the pleasure of the Town Board and be
it further RESOLVED: That~Norman ~. Klipp serve in such capacity without
compensation, and be it further

WHEREAS~ That Supervisor has appointed Wayland Jefferson to act as ~ToWn
Historian, Nor, therefore, be it ~ ~
RESOLVED: T~t Wayland Jefferson be compensated while acting in such
capacity in the amount of F~ve _~undr?G Dollars ($500.00) per year~ payable
in reguiar monthly payments, and be it further
RESOLVED: That the expenses incurred per year by the Town Historian in
the performance of his duties be paid by the ToWn in an amount not to
exceed One Hundred Fifty Dollars ($150~00) per year, and be it further
RESOLVED: That the Town Clerk be instructed to file such certificate-

Multiple Resident Law ~nd a Building Inspector be appointed for the
enforcement of the Building Zone Ordinance of the Town of Southold, now,
therefore, be it
RESOLVED, that Howard M. Terry he and he hereby is appointed enforcement
officer for both the Multiple B sid~nt Law'and~the siad Building Zone
Ordinance for a term of ~ne yea~ commencing January l, 1958, and expiring
on December 31, 1958, and, be it further
RESOLVED~ That the total salary for both positions be and hereby is fixed
at the sum of Three Hundred Seventy-five D~ltars ($375.00) per month ~ pay~
able in regular monthly payments during said term, and be it further

having more than one assessor to establish the office of Chairman of Town
Assessors who in addition to his regular duties shall perform such services
in.connection with assessment and taxation of property for state~ county
and town purposes~ as the Town Board shall direct~ now therefore be it
RESOLVED: That Albert Martocchia be and h~-~reby is designated.to hold
the office of Chairmen of the Town Board of Assessors until the first
day'of January next succeeding such designation all in accordance with 22b
of :~he Town Law~ and be it further

such Board the Bonds or Certificatesof the United States of the State of New

WHEREAS, Section 62 of the Town Law requires that every Town Board shall meet
on or after the 28th day of December, but not later than the 31st day of

Board of a Second Class Town should be held, now therefore be it
RESOLVED: That the Supervisor be and hereby is empowered to call all
meetings of the To~ Board as may be required for the best interest of the

be paid to the Receiver at the ~imes and with penalty other than his principal

Within sixty (60) days after the close of the fiscal year the Treasurer of

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that after a Public Hearing held pursuant to the
requirements of law~ the Building Zone Ordinance of the Town of Southold~
Suffolk.County~ New York~ was duly amended at a regular meeting of the
Town Board held at the office of the Supervisor at Greenport, New York~
on December ~0~ 19~7~ by rescinding and repealing Section 901 of said
ordinance~ and substituting therefor the following:
SECTION 9Ol:-~The Town Board by Resolution adopted at a stated meeting
shall fix the time and place of a public hearing on the proposed amend-
ment and cause notice thereof to be given pursuant to the provisions of
the Town Law. The Town Board~ before advertising for a public hearing~

WHEREAS~ it is the opinion of the Department of Audit and Control that ~
the Superintendent of Highways should have Town Board approval by resolution
of all purchases from the Machinery Fund~ ~

Town of Southold be and he hh~eby is authorized to purchase any piece of
equipment or any part thereof at a cost not to exceed Five Hundred Dollars

RESOLVED: That said request be granted with the understanding that all
work will be done in such a manner as to protect the Town of Southold
from all liability due to such work.
