No / it doesn't make any sense that a fence in your front yard cant be more than 4 feet high but a hedge across the front of your property can be twenty feet high. Hedges that block the property from the road are just as ugly and objectionable as a fence. Q2: Land Use & Zoning: Do these updates make sense for how you want to see land used in Southold? No Q3: Which zoning rules or land-use changes—if any—don’t work for you? it doesn't make any sense that a fence in your front yard cant be more than 4 feet high but a hedge across the front of your property can be twenty feet high. No Q5: What—if anything—would make housing options better for you and your neighbors? An accessory apt. in your house should be allowed up to 50% not 25% as the update indicates. Are you trying to promote additional housing or restrict it! Q6: Natural Resources & Environmental Protection: Do these updates adequately protect Southold’s natural resources, such as water, wildlife, and woodlands? No Q7: If not, what else would you like to see in the zoning code for environmental conservation? automatic irrigation not allowed on grass unless you stand out there and water it with a hose. stop putting houses in M2 zoning and calling it a good downgrade. Do the proposed zoning updates adequately address concerns related to traffic congestion and pedestrian safety?
