The landlords were ;Paul and Margaret Radich. Paul passed away in 2000 and we cohtinued to rent from Margaret Radich. I am in the process of moving now. When we first moved in there was another tenant upstairs. Her name was Lori Carlisle and her daughter. After the Carlisle's left (sometime that same year) we continued to occupy the downstairs while the Radich's had access to the upstairs, mostly for storage or other uses as they needed it. I also had access to part of the garage while the Rad,ich's used the other half. The 'last months my elder daughter and her husband, the Devoe's lived upstairs while I lived downstairs. Re: Affidavit for Pre-existing, non -conforming Certificate of Occupancy L Margaret Radich, would like to submit the following information as evidence that the house at 51170 M;ain.Road, Southold (Tax map# 47 3889 70.-2-6) was originally built as a two family structure_ My in-laws, George and Frances Radich built the house in 1947-48. The builder was Paul Barbish: They divided the space so that they could have boarders to help pay for the house. The house has always had two kitchens, bathrooms, living rooms, and various bedrooms. While we have made some renovations through the years, the basic floor plan has remained the same since this house was built. The upstairs was rented by my in-laws to a number of tenants whom I cannot remember throughout the first years. I arrived in this country in 1952 and the first longer teen boarder I recall was Mrs. Jelowski who Iived there from approximately '57 to 63. A couple, Winnie and John Pavaci6h lived there from '64 to '70. My in-laws resided in the first floor apartment. My father-in-law passed away in 59, mother-in-law passed in. 64. At that time my husband and I took over the house and we continued to rent to various tenants all of whom I cannot remember. There were years that we rented the upstairs: for .the summer only. This wap when we did not have a more long-term rental. Mr, Mardo Ragusin rented from'73 to `80. My daughter, Helen, and her husband resided tNere<`froxn `83-87, Throughout these years we had access to half the house for our use. My=husband and lased the house as a primary residence from 90-93. In `93, the house was reittediito twoTamilies: a woman named Lori Carlisle and her daughter upstairs and the Ken• Alfano fafruly .downstairs. She did not stay long and we used half of the house for out needs as the Alfanos cominyed:to, rent; for over ten years. For part of the past yearanather'couple, the Devoe's, ©c6upied dpslairs. At present, the house is empty and I would like to obtain a c. o. for the house and do some; badly needed repairs before we rent it aloin. This house is in a neighborhood with other, sWi ar dual occupancy houses and we. would not be changing the nature of the neigdborhood as we have always used this house in this way. Southold, N.Y. 11971 To Whom It May Concern: I have been asked, by Margaret Radich, to write a letter about her house at 51170 Main Road, Southold, N.Y. I grew up next door, 51250 Main Road, Southold, N.Y. Ambrose Terp was my father. I, Josephine Terp Planz, now own this house. To my knowledge, the Radich house -(51170 Main Road) was built in the 40's with an upstairs apartment, which was always used as a rental. I have little recollection of spe- cific tenants' names or dates of occupancy. Through the years there have been people living at this address. I understand that the owner, Maragaret Radich, is seeking a certificate of occupancy so that she can then get a build- ing permit for needed renovations. I believe, the renovation would enhance the neighborhood and she would renovate to the style of the area. I have no objection to the house being used as a two family rental.
