HomeMy WebLinkAboutTB-11/26/1957MEETING OF NOVEMB~ 18~ 19~7, A joint meeting of the Southold Town Board and the Southold Town Trustees was held at the Town Clerk's Office in Southold~ on Monday~ November 18~ 19~7, The meeting was called to order at 7:30 ?.Mo with the following present: Super?isor Klipp; Councilman Albertson; Justices Tuthill snd Demarest; Town Attorney Terry and Town Clerk Booth and ~he Town Board of Trustees, There were lengthy discussions of objections to the application of Meadow P 0iht Properties Inc, to the Board of Commissioners of the land office at Albany~ for a grant of land under water in Peconic Bay~ at S0uthold, Mo~ed by,Councilman Albertson; seconded by Justice Demarest: RESOLVED: That Supervisor Norman E, Klipp be authorized to take the necessary~stlepS to protest the action of Meadow Point Properties Inc, in thei~ application to the Board of Commissioners of the Land Office at Alba~y~ N.Y, for a grant of land under water in Peconic Bay~ at ' Vote of To~m Board: Ayes-Supervisor Klipp; Councilman Aibertson; J~stices Tuthill and Demarest. ~Journment was at 9 P,M. Booth Town Clerk MEETING OF NOVEMBER 2~, A public hearing was held by the Southold Town Board at the office of the Supervisor at Greenpor$~ on Monday, November 2~, 1957~ at 7:00 P.M. with the following present: SuperEisor Klipp; Councilman Albertson; Justices Tuthill and Clark; Town Attorney Teryy and Town Clerk Booth, This hearing was on the proposal to amend the Building Zone Ordinance of the Town of Southold by changing from "A~ Residential and Agricultural District to ~B" Business District on a parcel of land situate at Green- port~ in the T own of Southold~ property of George and John Muir and A. B. RosenberE, Also the petition of Edna Brown for a change of zone which was continued from the meeting of November 7th, The SUperviSor opened the hearing at 7:00 o'clock and read the call of the meeting, He then called upon an~ person present who wished to speak either for or against the proposal to amend the Building Zone Ordinance on the aforesaid parcels of ~ndo The hearing was duly closed at 8:10 PoM, The minutes of this hearing were recorded by George T. Lederle, Adjournment was at 9 P,M. Ralph P; Booth Town Clerk ~ETING OF NOVEMBER 26~ 19%7, The Southold Town Board met at the office of Supervisor Norman E. Klipp at Greenport~ on Tuesday~ November 26~ 19~?. The meeting was called to order at l:]O P,M. with the following present: Supervisor Klipp; Councilman A lbertson; Justices Tuthill~ Clark a~x~~$ Superinten- dent of Highways Price; Town Attorney Terry snd Town Clerk Booth, Mr~ Vincent ~nmabel and Mr. Patrick Gorman attended the meeting as representatives o£ the Democratic Party, Moved by Justice Clark; seconded by Councilman ~lbertson: REEOLVED: That the minutes of November 7th be and hereby are duly approved as read. Vote of Town Board:~ Ayes~Supervisor Klipp$ Coucnilman Albertson; Justices Tuthill and Clark, Moved by Councilman Albertson; seconded by Justice Tuhill: RESOLVED: That the minutes of Nov, 18 and No~. 2~ be and hereby are duly approved as read, Vote of Town Board: ANes-Supervisor K~ipp~ Councilman Albertson~ Justices Tuthill and Clark, 4'48 LeRoy Go Edwards, Esq.~ Attorney of Mineola, N.Y. appeared before the Board and stated that he represented numerous residents of East Marion in their objection to the issuance of a Trailer Camp Permit upon the application'of Florence and Charles Ziegler. Mr. Edwards was accompanied by a large delegation of his clients and he proceeded to state their objection. Mr. &Mrs. Ziegler spoke in favor of her application. Super- visor Klipp ~hen asked if anyone else wished to speak either in favor or against the application and there being no further response, he de- clared the matter closed for the further deliberation of the Hoard and stated that after such deliberation both parties would be notified of the Board's decision. Mr. Leonard Kaplan appeared before the Board with his:Attorney, Mr. Anthony J. Leanza, relative to a proposed change of zoning ordinance so as to permit sale of undersized lots on filed maps. The matter was referred to the Town Attorney for consideration with Mr. Le~nza. Moved by Justice Clark; seconded by Justice Tuthill: WH.EREAS~ a petition was received from Charles A-o Cornibert rela.tive to change of zone, NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED: That the Town Clerk of the Town of Southold be and ~he hereby is directed to transmit this application to the Planning Board in accordance with Section 901 subdivision C Article 1X of the Building Zone Ordinance of the Town of Southold, SUffolk County, New York. Also~ one Good Roads Model 712 Snow Plow, or Equal, complete wi~h power hydraulic lift and attached to the above mentioned truckS at a total cost not to exceed Thirteen Thousand Dollars.
