HomeMy WebLinkAbout05/28/1958 ` MEETING OF MAY 28, 1958 33 Moved by Justice Tuthill; seconded by Justice Demarest: WHEREAS, Chapter 713 of the Laws, of the S ate of New York provides that the Town Board of the Town of Southold Suffolk County, New York I ay establish a park district in the Town of Southold to be administered by a separate board of park district commissioners pursuant to the pro- visions of Article 13 of the ' Town Law, and '. WHEREAS , the Town Board is now desirous of establishing a park district -in said town in accordance with the provisions of Chapter 713 of the Laws of 19589 and the appropriate provisions of Article 12 of the Town . F•' Law, NOW1 THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED 1. That the Town Board of the Town of Southold does hereby establish a park district ih the Town of Southold to be known as THE CUTCHOGUE- NEW SUFFOLK PARK DISTRICT.. 2. That the boundaries of said district shall be as described in a -detailed description attached hereto, which boundaries are intended to coincide with the present boundaries of the Cutchogue Fire District. 3. That the affairs of said park district shall be administered by the Town Board of Southold until the first annual election of a separate board of commissioners of .said park district. , 4.' That after the first annual election of commissioners of the park district pursuant to Article 13 of the Town Law,. the provisions of "Article 13 of the Town Law. shall be applicable to such park district and the affairs thereof- shall be administered in the manner therein :,provided. ' That this resolution is adopted subject to a permissive referendum 413, `pursuant to the provisions of Section 91 of the Town Law. "Nassau Point" , about 13 ,200 feet. to the southerly tip of said "Nassau Point" ; thence northwesterly along Great Peconic Bay, being along the southwesterly shore of, said "Nassau Point" , about 13 ,000 feet to the shore of Cutchogue .Harbor at "Fleet 's Neck" ; thence westerly and then southwesterly along said Cutchogue Harbor about 7500 feet to Great Peconic Bay at .New Suffolk; thence westerly along said Great Peconic Bay about 8000 feet to the point of beginning.
