A public hearing and Board Meeting was held by the Southold Town Board
at the office of Supervisor Norman E. Klipp at Greenport, on Wednesday,
September ll, 1957, with the following present: Supervisor Klipp;
Councilman Albertson; .Justices Tuthill, Clark and Demarest;~Superin-
tendentof Highways Price; Town Attorney Terry and Town Clerk Booth.
This hearing was on the proposal to amend the Building Zone Ordinance
o£ the Town of Southold by changing from "A" Residential and Agricult-
ural District to "B" Business District on a prcel of land in East
Marion, andmaparcel of land nea~ the Eillage of Greenport.
The'SUpervisor opened the hearing at 7:00 o'clock P.M. and read the
call up present who wished to speak either for or against
the the 'Building Zone Ordinance on the aforesaid
par, The hearing was duly closed at 7:30 P.M. The minutes
of th were recorded by George T. Lederle.

RESOLVED: That the necessary expense incurred while attending said
convention is a legal charge against the Town.

WHEREAS,~ the Town Superintendent of Highways did, on the llth day of
Sept., 19~7, duly recommend the purchase of certain equipment pursuant
to the provisions of Section 1~2 of the Highway Law,
NOW, THEREFORE, BEFIT RESOLVED. that pursuant to Section 1~2 of the
Highway Law the Town Superintend~-t of Highways is hereby authorized
to purchase, in accordance with the provisions of Article 5-A of the
General Municipal Lae, with the approval of the CountySuPerintendent
of Highways, the following:
One (1) South Bend Model "E" Gutter snipe Pickup Street Sweeper~wit~
sweeping width of 6 ft., hopper cap. of 2 y~s~ 4 cylinder industrial
engine with starter, generator, heavy duly battery, air cleaner&oil
filter, full hydraulic controls, water supply with centrifical pump
& spray bar full width of broom, 2 head lights, I spot light, l~rear flood
light, one stop light, I tail light & 2 clearance lights, I extra gutter,
and I extra pickup broom, i metal cab eith windshield and wipers
for a maximum price of Eight Thousand Four Hundred Fifty & O0/lO0 Dolllars
($8,~0°00) delivered at Peconic, N.Y. and to be delivered on or about
2 days after receipt of order. The Town Superintendent of Highways is
hereby authorized~ subject to the ~pproval of the County Superintend-
ent of Highways, to surrender to the vendor

Moved by Justice Demarest; seconded by Councilman Albertson;
WHEREAS, the Seuthold Town Planning Board has prepared an official
report and recommendation upon the petition of Cove Beach Estates
Ino.~,.to amend the Building Zone Ordinance (including the Build-
lng Z0ne Maps), and
WHEREAS, the Town Board, after due consideration of the matter~
decided it was in the publid interest'to call a hearing pursuant
to the provisions of the Town Law and said Ordinance, and
WHEREAS~ such hearing ~as held (pursuant to notice duly given)at
a.meeting of the Town Beard at the 0ffice of the SUpervisor, 16
Sour Street, Greenport, ~.Y., on September llth, 19~7, at $~00 PM,
at which time all persons desiring to be heard in favor of said
amendment and also all those desiring to be heard in opposition
thereto were given an opportunity to be heard, and thereafter
the public hearing was closed and decision reserved:
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE T0~ B0gRD that the Building
ZONE ORDINANCE (Including the Building Zone Maps) of the Town of
Southold, Suffolk County, New York, be amended by changing from
"A" Residential and Agricultural District to "B" Business District

FURTHER RESOLVED: That the Town Clerk be and he hereby is author-
ized ~n4ddirected to give the necessary notice of such changes
in Eoning to the departments and agencies h~ving jurisdiction
in the matter.
