A special meeting of the Southold Town Board was held at the office
of SBpervisor Norman E. Klipp at Greenport~ on Thursday~ Aug. 29~
19'5?.'The meeting was called to order at 7:~0 P.M. with the follOw-
ing present: Supervisor Elipp; Councilman AlbertsOn; Justices
clar~and Demarest and Town 01erk Bee~h.
The purpose of this meeting was to appoint Police Patrolmen
(Constables) for the Town of Southold.
A communication was received from Clarence Goldsmith and Joseph
Rhodes of~the Greenport Police Department requesting to be trans-
ferred to the Southold Town Police Force, were read and considered

A communication was received from James P. Mellas and Donald Miller
for position as Police Patrolman on the Southold Town Police Force.
These were also discusse~d~
A communication received from Joseph A. Holahan, requesting a
positi:on~-aS Radio Operator, was also discussed.
Moved by Councilman Albertso~; seconded by Justice Demarest:
RESOLVED:' That Robert M. Hulse, Main Street~ East Marion, N.Y.
be and hereby is appointed Police Patrolman (Constable) of the
Tow~ o~f for a Probationary period ef six months, follow-
appointment becomes effective and be it further
Robert M. Hulse will serve in the capacity of Police
Pat .(COnstable) of the Town of Southold at the pleasure ef

RESOLVE. D:That the compensation during the probationary period be
fixed at Fourteen Dollars ($14.00) per day, five days per week~
payable in regular bi-weekly payments~ and be it further

Patrolman (Constable) of the Town of Southold at the pleasure of the
Town Board and be it further
RESOLVED: That the compensation during the probationary period ~e

the Town Board, and be it further
RESOLVED: That the compensation during the probationary period be
fixed at $16.62 per day, five days per week~ payable in regular bi-
weekly payments and be it further
RESOLVED: That the probationary period take effect on September l~,
1957.

RESOLVED: That effective as of September l~ 19~7~ the rate'of pay 6
of Walter Bondarchuk and Elmer Quarty be increased from $~B.BO to $1 .00
per day, five days.per week.

WAIVER OF NOTICE OF TOWN BOARD MEETING
We, the undersigned, being members of the Town Board of the Town of
Southold, Suffolk County, New York~ do hereby severally w~ive notice
of the time, place and purpose of the meeting of the Town Board to
be held at the Supervisor's Office at Greenport, New York~ in the Tom
of Southold, on Thursday, August 29, 19~7~ and do hereby consent that
the same be held on said date for the transaction of any business
which may properly come before said meeting.
