The Annual, Fishers Island Meeting of the Southold Town Board was
held on Wednesday, August 20, 19%7. The meeting was held inthe
auditorium of the Fishers Island High School and was called to
order~by Supervisor Klipp at 1:30 P.M. with the following present:
Supervisor Klipp; Councilman Albertson; Justices Tuthill, Clark,
Demarest and Edwards; Superintendent of Highways PriCe; Town Attorney
Terry ~nd..Town Clerk'Booth, slso officials of the State, County snd
Town and guests and a delegation of Fishers Island residents.
Moved by Councilman Albertson; seconded by Justice Clark:
RESOLVED: That the reading of the minutes of the previous meeting
be ~nd hereby are dispensed with.
Vote of lTown Board: Ayes-Supervisor Klipp; Councilman Albertson;
Justices Tuthill, Clark Demarest and Edwards.

REs'OL~E~. That the regular monthly audit meeting of this Board will
be held at the office of Supervisor Norman E. Klipp at Greenport,
on ~iday~ Sept. 6~ 19%7, at 1:30 P.M.

Supervisor Klipp inquired if there were any problems .~e Fi~ers Is.

streets. The Supervisor suggested that the people contact the con-
stable and he get in touch with the litterbugs and have them clean
up the~ letter. Mrs. Andrews also stated that the ragweed along the
sides of the roads should be cut as people that have hayfever suffer
from the pollen of ragweed. Mr. Price stated he would have Mr. Horn
cut the weeds. Mr. Williamson of the mosquito Commission stated that
a spray for ragweed wo.uld be effective. Mr. H.L. Ferguson stated that
there was a rock on the south side of Oriental Avenue at the inter-
section ef Peninsula Road which is s great hazard to traffic and
should be removed. JuS~tice Edwards was instructed to procure a
da~er m~si~nmsnd s~ect it near the rock if it is not on pr~va, te prop-
erty. One way street signs posted on trees and poles ~a~e dmscusse~d.
Mr. Price stated they should be removed. The Supervisor stated if~
they would :~end a request to the Town Board and let them know what
is required in the form of signs, the To~n~ 2~ Board would $ive
the matter full consideration. He also stated he would write to
Traffic Co~mission and inquire what orders have been issued

RESOLVED: That William E. Way of Peconic, N.Y. be and he hereby is
appointed School Traffic Officer to direct ~affic-at the East~Cutch-
ogue School crossing, at a salary of $~.~0 per day for eachL'school
day worked, effective as of September $, 1957~ he to serve at
pleasure of the Town Board.

A~MEND~NT NO. 6
WHEREAS, the Southold Town Planning Board has prepared an official
report and recommendation upon the Petition of Peter B~an~ and Sons
to amend the Building Zone Ordinance of the Town of Southold~ Suffolk
County, New Y~rk, by excepting certain subdivision lots from 'certain
applicable provisions of said 0rdinanee~ and
WHEREAS, ~he~Town Board~ after due consideration of the matter,.
decided l~ w~s in the public interest to call a hearing pursuant to
the provisions of the Town Law and said Ordinance, and
WHEREAS, such hearing was held (pursuant to notice duly given)
at a meeting of the Town Board at the office of the Sup~rvisor~ 16
South Street, Greenport, N.Y., on August 15~ 1957~ at 7.00 P.M.' at
which time all persons desiring tobe heard in favor of said amendment
and also all those desiring to be heard in opposition thereto were
given opportunity and were heard, and ~h~reafter the public hearing
was closed and decision reserved;
NOW, THEREFORE~ BE IT RESOLVED BY THE TOWN BOARD that the Building
Zone Ordinance cf the Town of Southcld~ Suffolk County, New Y~rk~ be
amended by adding thereto the following:
SECT~0N 101~ -EXCEPTIONS AS TO CERTAIN SUBDIVISION LOTS-
(a) ALL of the lots on a certain map entitled "Map of Marion ManOr",
situated at East Marion, Town of Seuthold, Suffolk County~ New~rk~
filed in Suffolk County Clerk's Office on March 18, 195~, as MaP No.
20~8~ shall be excepted from the provisions of Section 303 herein;
As to Lots numbered one (1) through (%) on said map, the sideyard
requirements shall be reduced to ten (10) feet on each side; and as te
lo~s numbered thirty-three (3~) through forty-seven (~7) on said map,
the setback lines and rear yard requirements shall each be reduced
to twenty (20) feet, and it is
FURTHER RESOLVED: that the Town Clerk be and he hereby is authorized
and directed to give the necessary notice of such changes in zoning
to the departments and ~gencies having jurisdiction in the mmtter.
