A public hearing was held by the Southold Town Board at the office
ofmSupervisor Norman E. Klipp at Gre~nport, on Wednesday, August
1~,~.~19~7, with the following present: Supervisor Klipp; Councilman
Albertson; Justices Tuthill, Clark and Demarest; Town Attorney
Terry snd TownClerk Booth. This hearing was on the proposal to
amend the Building Zone Ordinance of the Town of Southold by
changing from "A" Residential and Agricultural District to
Business District on a parcel of land in Southold and a pracel of
land near the village of Greenport. The Supervisor opened the

BEGINNING at the intersection of the southerly line of Corwin Street
with the easterly line of Ninth Street; running thence in a general
easterly direction along the southerly line of Corwin Street , a
distance 'of 120 feet; running thence in a general southerly direction
and parallel to the westerly line of Lot No. 21 as shown on map Of
property of S. Buel Corwin on file in the Suffolk County Clerk's
Office to the land of the Long Island Railroad Company; r~uning
thence in'a general westerly direction along land of Long:mI~la~d
Railroad Company 13~ feet, more or less, to the easterly line of
Ninth Street; running thence in a northerly direction along the
easterly line of Ninth Street, 1~9 feet, more or less, to ~he

FURTHER RESOLVED: That the necessary changes be made upon the
Building Zone Maps so as to indicate the location of said~property

Maps) of the Town of Southold, Suffolk County, New York~ and it is
FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Town Clerk be and he hereby is authorized
and'directed to give the necessary notice of such changes in zoning
to the departments and agencies having jurisdiction in the matter.

WHEREAS, the Southold Town Planning Board has prepared an official
report and~reco~endation upon the Petition of Florence Moore to
amend the Building Zone Ordinance (including~the BuildinglZone Maps)
of the Town of Southold, Suffolk CounSy, New York~ by changing £~om
"A" Residential and AgricUltural District to "B" BusinesSDistrict
c~rtain property situated at Southold in said Town, and
%~HEREAS, the Town Board, after due consideration of the nmt~er, decided
it was in the public interest to call a hearing pursuant to'the pro-
visions of the To~ Law and the said Building Zone 0rdinance~ a~d
WHERE~S~ such hearing was held (pursuant to notice duly given) at a
meeting of the Town Board at the Office of the Supervisor~ 16 South
Street, Greenport, N.Y., on August l~, 19~7, at 7:00 P.M., at which
time all persons desiring to be heard in favor of said re-zoning
and also all those desiring to be heard in opposition thereto were ~
given an ~pportunity and were heard, and thereafter the public
hearing was closed and decision reserved:
NOW~ THEREFORE~ BE IT RESOLVED BY THE TOWN BOARD that the
following property be re-zoned by changing from ~A" Residential and
Agricultural District to "B" Business District:
ALL that tract or parcel of land situate ~ lying and being at Southold,
in the Town of Southold~ County of Suffolk, and State of New-York, ~
bounded on the North by Bowery Lane; on the South and Southeast by Main
Road, ~nd on the West by land of Glover, and it is
FURTHER RESOLVED: That the necessary changes be made upon the Build-
ing Zone Maps so as to indicate the location of said proPerty as
being located in "B" Business District as defined and regulated
pursuant to the Building Zone Ordinance (including the Building Zone
Maps) of the Town of Southold, Suffolk County~ New York, and~it is
FURTHER RESOLVED: That the Town-Clerk be and he hereby is authorized ·
and directed to give the necessary notice of such changes in zoning
to the departments and agencies having Jurisdiction in the matter.
