The meeting was called to order at 1:30 P.M. with the fcllowing present: Supervisor Klipp;.Co~milman A&bertson$ Jus.tices TUthill~ Clark and Demarest; Supt. of Highways Price~ Town Attorney Terry and Town Clerk Booth. The Board gat at once as a Committee on audit to examine claims against the Town concluding the audit work at 2 o'clock P.M. Mo~ed by Councilman Albertson; seconded by Justice Demar~s~: RESOLVED: That the minutes of the previous meeting be and hereby are duly approved as read. *Ibertson. Moved by Justice Clark; seconded by Justice Tuthill: RESOLVED: That the regular monthly meeting of this Board will be held at the office of Supervisor K!ipp at Greenport~ on Tuesday~ May 21~ 1957 at 1:30 P.M. o'clock. Vote of Town Board: ~yes-Supervisor Klipp; Councilman a!bertson; Justices Tuthil!~ Clark and Demarest. Moved by Councilman ~!bertson; seconded by Justice Demarest: RESOLVED: That Norman E. Klipp~ Su~ervisor~ be authorized to advise the State Insurance Fund that the Town of Southold elects to place the following officers under the coverage of the New York State Compensation Law: all members being members of the Southold Town Planning Board: John Wickham, Harold R. Reeve~ Sr., C~ar!es F. Var~uzer, Alfred R. Grebe~ Henry F. Moisa. Vote of the Town Board: Ayes-Supervisor K!ipp; Councilman Aibertson; Justices Tuthill~ Clark and Demarest. Moisa of 0rient~ New York, be and hereby is appointed a member of the Southo~d Town Planning B0a~d until April 30~ 1960~ to fill the unexpired term of Robert W. GilliSpie~ Jr. Vote of Town Board: Ayes-Supervisor Klipp; Councilman Albertson: Justices Tuthill, Clark and Demarest. Moved by Justice Clark; seconded by Councilman Alb~rtson: RES6LVED: That the Town Boar~ of the Town of Southold approves the action of the Commissioners of the Fishers Island Ferry District on entering into a contract with the interstate Navigation Company for the charter of the M/V Yankee for a period from April 29~ 1957, to May 3, 19~7, with the option of e~tending the period. Moved by Councilman A!bertson; seconded by Justice Tuthill: RESOLVED: That the street lighting contract between the Town of Southo~d and the Long Island Lighting Company covering the Southold Lighting District, effective July U~ 1957 for a term of one year of service and thereafter until terminated by~Odays written notice by either party be and the same is hereby~pproved by the Town Board. Vote of Town Board: Ayes-Supervisor Klipp; Cou~e~lman Zlbertson; Justices Tuthill~ Clark and Deamrest. Moved by Justice Demarest; seconded by Justice Clark: RESOLVED: That the street lighting contract between the Town Of Southold and the Long Island Lighting Company covering the Orient Lighting District effective July l~ 19~7~ for a term od one year of service~and thereafter until terminated by 30 days written notice by either par~y~ be and the same is hereby approved by the Town Board? Moved by ~hmncilman Albertson; seconded by Justice Demarest: WHEREAS~ a letter was received from Theodore B. Howard~ sergeant of the Southold Town Police Force requesting to be transferred from the Southold Town Police Force to the Greenport Police D~partment~ effective as of May 15~ 1957, be it RESOLVED: That the letter be laid on the table for later consideration. Vote of Town Board: Ayes-~upervisor Klipp; Councilman Albertson; Justices Tuthill: Clark and Demarest. A communication was received from the Commissioners of the Orient Fire-District requesting a traffic light to be placed at the inter- section of Toute 25 and Village Lane. Moved by Justice Demarest; seconded by Justice Clark: RESOLVED: That Norman E. Klipp~ Supervisory be authorized to contact the New York Depsrt~ent of Public Works and request that a traffic light be installed ~t the intersection of State Highway Route 2~ ~nd Village Lane. Vote of Town Board: Ayes-Supervisor Klipp; Councilman &lbertson; justices Tuthill~ Clark and Demmrest. Moved by Justice Tuthill; seconded by Justice C~ark: RESOLVED: That General Bills in the amount of $3~278.08~ Lighting District Bills in the amount of $1~96.09~ Fishers Island Ferry ~District Bills in the amount of $7~732.37: be and the same are here- by ordered paid. Vote of Town Board: Ayes-Supervisor Klipp~ Councilman Albertson; Justices Tuthill~ Clark and Demarest. Moved bY Justice Tuthill~ seconded by Councilman Albertson: RESOLVED: That the Police Report for the month of April be accepted by the Town Board and placed on file. Vote of Town Board: Ayes-Supervisor Klipp; Councilman Albertson; Justices Tuthill~ Clark and Demarest. Moved by Supt. of Highways Price; seconded by Justice Tuthill: RESOLVED: That inasmuch as ~e repuired dedication and release have been duly received~ map of same duly filed and the necessary papers signed~ the To~n Board take over and maintain as public highways~ CEDAR ROAD and~ C&SES LANE~ situated at Cutchogue~ in the Town of Southold~ New Y~rk.
