HomeMy WebLinkAboutTB-03/13/1957-SMEETING OF MARCH 13~ 19~7. A special meeting of the Southold Town Board was held at the office of Supervisor Norman E. Klipp at Greenport~ on Wednesday~March 13~ 1957~ The meeting was called to order at 7:30 P.M. with the fo~owing present: Supervisor Klipp; Councilman Albertson; Justices Tuthill~ Clark and Demarest; Town Attorney Terry and Tow~ clerkB°oth. The purpose of this meeting was to approve the act~ of ~he Commission- ersof the Fishers Island Ferry District in entering into an agree- ment with the City of New London and Robert P. Collins. The following Resolution was offered by Justice Clark and seconded by Justice Demarest .... WHEREAS~ THE BOARD OF C0~¢iISSIONERS OF THE FISHERS ISLAND FERRY DISTRICT have successfuli~ negotiated with the City of New Londofi~ Connecticut~ and with Robert P. Collins for a lease of facilities at the foot of State Street~ in ~x~r~x~F~k~x~t~k~i~mx~ ~ New London~ Connecticut and the westerly Ealf af the south side of the adjacent mmnicipal pier so ss to provide docking and wharfage facilities for the district for a period of ten years from April 1~ 19~7~ ~nd for premises adjacent to the municipal pier for a period 6f 20 years from April 1~ 19~7~ and WHMREAS~ the said Board of Commissioners has entered into an agree- ment with Robert P. Collins~ a License agreement with the City'of New London~ and a lease with the City of New London~ all'subj~ct to the approval of the To~m Board of the Town of Southold~ and WHEREAS~ the Town Boardof the Town of Southold~ a~ter due consider- ation~ has concluded that the aforesaid agreements are eminently fair and in the best interests of the FISHERS ISLA~ FERRY DISTRICT and thh people of Fishers Island~ NOW~ THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED: That the Town Board of the-Town of Southold approve and it hereby does approve of the acts of the Comm- issioners of the Fishers Island Ferry District in entering into the aforesaid agreements~ ~nd be i~ further resolved th~ the members of the Town Board indicate such approval in writing at the end of each agreement. Vote of Town Board: Ayes-Supervisor Klipp~ Councilman Albertson; Justices Tuthill~ Clark and Demarest. Adjournment was at 9 P.M. Ralph P. Booth To~m Clerk
