The Southold Town Board met at the office of Supervisor Norman E. Klipp
at Greenport, on Tuesday~ Fegruary 5, 1957. The ~eeting was ~lled
to order at i:30 P.M. with the following present. Supervisor KlipP;
Councilman Albertson; Justices Tuthill~ Clark and Demarest; ~0wn
Superintendent of Highways Price; Town Attorney Terry~ and Town Clerk
Booth. ~
The Board sat at once as a committee on audit to examine claims
against the Town~ Concluding the audit work at 2 o'cloc$ ~$M~
Moved by Councilman Albertson; seconded by Justice Tuthill: <~
RESOLVED: That t~e minutes of the previous meeting be and hereby
are duly approved as read.
Vote of Town Board: Ayes-Supervisor Klipp; Councilman Albertson;,
Justices Tuthill~ Clark and Demarest.
Moved by Justice Tuthill; seconded by Justice Demarest:
~RESOLVED: That the Town Board of the Town of Southold~ Suffolk County~
New York~ strenuously opposes any revisions of the Court System of
the State of New York whereby~ the office of Jusiice of the Peace
is abolished~ and Be~-~t further
RESOLVED: That the~ervisor be instructed to transmit the sentiments
of the Southold Town BOard to our State Legislators.
Vote of Town Board: Ayes-Supervisor Kl~pp; Councilman Albertson;
Justices Tuthill~ Clark and Demarest.
Moved by Councilman Albertson; seconded by Justice Clark:
RESOLVED: That the regular monthly meeting of this Board will be held
at the office of Supervisor Norman E. Klipp at Greenport~ on Tuesday~
F~bruary 26~ 1957~ at 1:30 P.M.

Justices Tuthill~ Clark and Demarest.
Moved by Councilman ~lbertson; seconded by Jusl~ce Tuthill:
~fHEREAS~ the Superintendent of Highways has advertised f~r bids
foF the purchase of a one ando6ne half yard fromt end loader~
which bids are to be opened at 2 o'clock P.M. on February 8~ 1957~ and
WHEREAS~ the Superintendent of Highways hasr~eqNested authority to
award the bid to the lowest responsible bidder~ ~ to reject all bids
and readvertise, now therefore~ be it
RESOLVED: That the Town Superintendent of Highways be and he hereby
is~ with the advice and consent of the Highway Committee~ authorized
to award the bid to the lowest responsible bidder~ or in his discretion~
to reject all bids and re~dvertise anew.

Justices Tuthill~ Clark and Demarest.
Moved by Justice Tuthill; seconded by Justice Demarest:
RESOLVED:,That General Bills in the amount of $3~325.$2; Lighting
District Bills in the amouat of $1~13.50+~ Fishers Island Ferry Dis-
trict Bills in the amount of $6~5~7.26 be and the same are hereby
ordered paid.
